Por el lado de los merengues, en la ida, le dieron un baile al Chelsea yéndose con un marcador bastante corto para el partido que se jugó. Es el tercer enfrentamiento en los últimos cinco años en fases de eliminación directa entre estos equipos. Primero en la temporada 2019-2020, en donde el equipo de Inglaterra firmó par de victorias consecutivas ante el actual campeón de Europa en octavos de final, jornadas que contaron con errores garrafales de nuestro querido Rafael Varane. Posteriormente, en la temporada pasada, 2021-2022, en semifinales, se vivieron unos cruces de infarto. En donde, personalmente, quedé ronco en ambos partidos, y es que yo nunca había visto una eliminatoria tan fulminante. A parte de que veníamos de unos el Madrid nos acostumbró a ver esas remontadas épicas una tras otras, siendo la del City la más increíble de todas. Y esta vez, en la temporada 2022-2023, volvemos a ver este cruce en semifinales.

Sin embargo, tocó el City y bienvenido sea. Me parece que la eliminatoria no está para nada dispareja. Aunque en el partido de la ida, en el Santiago Bernabéu, la baja de Militao se va a notar bastante. Estamos hablando de uno de los mejores centrales del mundo, y emparejarlo en la lucha contra Haland era fundamental. No obstante, si llega a llegar Alaba, no me desagrada esa pareja Rudiger – Alaba. Aunque si no llega, la pareja** Rudiger – Nacho** sí me causaría más dudas.

Afortunadamente, tenemos buenas noticias para el Madrid, y es que tenemos jugadores que están en un nivel de forma excelente, como Camavinga, Valverde, Courtois y Vinicius. Sumando a esto el gran salto que ha dado Rodrygo esta temporada, dejándose uno que otro gol en el trayecto, pero influyendo mucho en el juego del Madrid. Tampoco me dejo cegar y me doy cuenta del altísimo nivel en el que está Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, la regularidad de De Bruyne y otros pilares que tiene el City como Rodri, entre otros. No nombro a** Haland** porque ya se sobreentiende que la está rompiendo.

Aun así, y aunque parezca un poco cliché y rebuscado, hay un elemento implícito extra futbolístico que es el que ha hecho especial a este Madrid. Aún no lo desciframos, solo decimos, es el Madrid. Y a esa mística, tanto como a la calidad de la plantilla, nos aferramos los aficionados del club. El Manchester, sí o sí, debe ir a ganar la Champions con todo, si no será un fracaso total, y más si cae nuevamente ante el Madrid. Es un equipo que está construido para ganar no solo su liga local, sino también la de campeones, le ha quedado muy grande a pesar de contar quizás con la mejor plantilla de toda Europa y el mundo. Mientras el club blanco puede reafirmar su historia y salvar una temporada en la cual dejó ir a una liga con errores de concepto muy fuertes, pero que con la Champions en juego y aún la final de Copa del Rey por disputar, puede ser una gran temporada.

Por otro lado, a los fanáticos del Madrid nos regalaron la mejor temporada que yo recuerde, no nos deben nada. En cambio, el City desde hace ya un tiempo le debe una Champions a su gente.

Como aficionado al Madrid, obviamente deseo que pasemos y juguemos una nueva final, y como aficionado al fútbol, espero ver una serie que no se me borre nunca de la cabeza con dos gigantes. Además, están conducidos por unos capitanes bastante experimentados como Guardiola y Ancelotti.
