¡Hola Chicos!
Ayer en la mañana me tocaba asistir al colegio de mi hijo para una reunión que convocó la maestra con carácter de urgencia.
El motivo era que este año nuestros niños se gradúan de 6to grado y como es tradición, se hace una celebración en torno a este importante acontecimiento.
Es el paso de nuestros pequeños a la secundaria, algo digno de celebrar porque dejan de ser niños para convertirse en adolescentes.
Ya se había hecho una reunión anteriormente pero no sé había concretado nada porque faltaba mucha información como lo del costo del alquiler del local donde se dará la graduación y la fiesta.
El colegio prohibió celebrar las graduaciones, no se sabe el motivo exacto pero no podemos utilizar los espacios del colegio para hacerla. Es por ello que se tiene que buscar un sitio que permita celebrar ambas cosas sin problemas y por supuesto que cuente con los espacios necesarios para hacerlo.

Yesterday morning I had to go to my son's school for a meeting called by the teacher as a matter of urgency.
The reason was that this year our children are graduating from 6th grade and as is tradition, there is a celebration around this important event.
It is the passage of our children to secondary school, something worth celebrating because they are no longer children but adolescents.
There had already been a meeting before but nothing had been finalised because there was a lot of information missing, such as the cost of renting the place where the graduation and the party will take place.
The school has banned graduations, we don't know the exact reason but we can't use the school premises to hold them. That is why we have to look for a place that allows us to celebrate both without problems and of course that has the necessary space to do so.
Yo estaba bien ansiosa por saber que se iba a definir en esta reunión, ya que la vez pasada estaban hablando de un monto mensual de 10$ y para la economía de mi hogar actual esa cantidad representa un gran impacto.
Pero bueno, sin estar pensando de más me fui al colegio a eso de las 10 de la mañana. En el camino me encontré con un cielo hermoso lleno de nubes. Además habían un pájaro sobrevolando el terreno que queda en camino al colegio.
Es primera vez que veo a uno de este tipo tan cerca, normalmente los veo en el cielo a lo lejos pero esta vez estaba súper cerca.
I was very anxious to know what was going to be defined in this meeting, since last time they were talking about a monthly amount of 10$ and for the economy of my current home that amount represents a big impact.
But well, without thinking too much I left for school at about 10am. On the way I found a beautiful sky full of clouds. There was also a bird flying over the land on the way to the school.
It's the first time I've seen one of this kind so close, normally I see them in the sky in the distance but this time it was really close.
Llegué y por suerte aún no había comenzado la reunión. Me ubiqué en uno de los pupitres y en cuestión de minutos iniciamos.
La maestra, continuando lo que se habló la vez anterior, habló de recolectar un monto mensual, pero ella continuaba con los 10$ que les comenté.
Todas parecían estar de acuerdo porque nadie decía nada. Es entonces cuando surge la duda de cuanto será el gasto total en estos dos eventos, graduación y fiesta.
Comenzaron a nombrar los posibles sitios donde se podría alquilar y los beneficios que cada uno tendría. En todos había que contar con un sonido aparte, la decoración y por supuesto la comida que consumirían los niños durante este tiempo.
También la ubicación del local era importante para que no se hiciera un gasto tan grande en el traslado. Otro tema que se habló es de mandar a hacer una chaqueta para cada niño, este gasto no está incluído en el monto que les comentaba.
Lo bueno es que no serán como las típicas chaquetas de promoción sino que solo tendrán las iniciales de cada niño y ya. Se que a mi hijo le encantará la idea.
I arrived and luckily the meeting had not yet started. I took my place at one of the desks and in a matter of minutes we started.
The teacher, continuing what had been discussed the previous time, talked about collecting a monthly amount, but she continued with the $10 I had told them about.
Everyone seemed to agree because no one said anything. That's when the question arose as to how much would be the total cost of these two events, graduation and party.
They began to name the possible places where they could rent and the benefits that each one would have. All of them had to have a separate sound system, the decoration and of course the food that the children would eat during this time.
The location of the venue was also important so that the cost of transport would not be so high. Another issue that was discussed was to have a jacket made for each child, this cost is not included in the amount I mentioned.
The good thing is that they won't be like the typical promotional jackets, they will just have the initials of each child and that's it. I know my son will love the idea.
El monto mensual estuvo a punto de quedar fijado en 10$ los cuales habían que comenzar a pagarlos el último día de este mes. Todas asentían pero yo no dude en alzar mi voz y comenté que al menos para mi, era algo imposible de cumplir.
Todas concordaron conmigo y se rebajó el monto a 5$ mensual. Al parecer todas estaban en desacuerdo pero nadie quería decir su opinión. En total se recaudarán casi 1000$ entre los 27 niños del aula, pues la recolecta durará 8 meses. Considero que con eso se pueden hacer muchísimas cosas.
Yo quedé bastante satisfecha pues no es que estoy en contra de la celebración, pero todos pasamos por momentos complicados y creo que debemos hacer algo acorde a nuestras necesidades.
The monthly amount was about to be fixed at $10, which had to be paid by the last day of the month. They all agreed but I did not hesitate to raise my voice and commented that at least for me, it was impossible to fulfil.
They all agreed with me and the amount was lowered to $5 per month. It seemed that everyone disagreed but no one wanted to say what they thought. In total, almost 1000$ will be collected from the 27 children in the classroom, as the collection will last 8 months. I think that a lot of things can be done with this money.
I was quite satisfied because it is not that I am against the celebration, but we all go through difficult times and I think we should do something according to our needs.
Lo importante es que los niños tengan el espacio para celebrar, que no pase por desapercibido el evento y que disfruten ese primer paso al gran paso que viene para sus vidas.
Se creó un comité que llevará a cabo todas las tareas. Yo la verdad no quise intervenir en eso porque es una gran responsabilidad y normalmente se suele hablar si o si de forma de negativa de estas personas, así estén haciendo una buena labor.
Tampoco cuento con el tiempo ni los medios para hacerlo. Así que confío en lo que puedan hacer las otras mamás.
The important thing is that the children have the space to celebrate, that the event does not go unnoticed and that they enjoy this first step to the next big step in their lives.
A committee was created to carry out all the tasks. I didn't really want to intervene in this because it is a big responsibility and normally these people are usually spoken about in a negative way, even if they are doing a good job.
Nor do I have the time or the means to do so. So I trust in what the other mums can do.
Ya para finalizar mi pequeña salida, aproveché que estaba cerca de una tienda que vende artículos de repostería para comprar unos materiales que me hacen falta para este jueves.
Los encontré a un muy buen precio, algo que me emocionó porque pensaba iba a salir todo más costoso. Ya solo me falta comprar algunas cositas y estoy lista para aprender a hacer fondant.
Luego les estaré contando la experiencias. por los momentos gracias por leer hasta acá mi pequeña aventura de mamá. ♥
To finish my little outing, I took advantage of the fact that I was near a shop that sells baking supplies to buy some materials that I need for this Thursday.
I found them at a very good price, something that excited me because I thought everything was going to be more expensive. Now I just need to buy a few things and I'm ready to learn how to make fondant.
