Chukweze's confession: "Jay-Jay Okocha was my role model and how my Mom, Uncle nearly killed my football career"
It was a compendium of great revelations as Super Eagles player, Samuel Chukwueze, talked about how his mother nearly killed his football career in the early stage and how much he loved Former Super Eagles Captain, Jay-Jay Okocha while he was growing up.
“My big hero was Jay JayOkocha. I loved watching him, and whenever he played for Nigeria I would be so desperate to see him win. If they lost, I wouldn’t eat. I couldn’t take it,” Chukwueze told Goal.
“In my home town, we had a local centre and I would try to go there to watch Nigeria games. We didn’t have a TV, but there was one there. I would peep through the window to see Okocha and the rest.”
He also revealed how he started out as a footballer and the initial opposition from his Mom. Although, according to him, his Mom would later change her stance and encouraged him to take football seriously so as to achieve his dreams.
It was indeed an interesting account of history. Thanks for reading.

Parents should learn to encourage their children in their chosen career rather than trying to tailor them to suit their own desires. This should be an eye opener for domineering parents.
