Football and its importance

For a few days now, there has been no light in the house but one funny thing I get to see or encounter is that on my way home from work, I always see people lined up in this particular shop watching the television, incredibly enough, they are not watching movies but they are watching football.

That's how wide and important football is to our nation. They won't even care what time it is or if they will meet harm, standing by the roadside to watch the ongoing match as long as it is football, it doesn't matter.

The joy of football can not be compared, everyone including the old and the young, gather together and talk like one when football is involved but fight each other when politics is involved or the economy of the nation.

Isn't it funny that people are ready to bet, ready to go to the ends of the earth, ready to keep everything on hold just for the sake of football, it is one thing that brings men together from all works of life.

A few days ago, I watched on a friend status how a young lad sat alone and was watching football and when one of the teams scored, the joy on his face was priceless as he stood up from his little sit and was running around shouting goal while his parents laughed at his action.

I am sure, this young boy of about three years old has seen His Father do that whenever his favourite team scored and copied the same. And that is to show us how much football meant to us and how it can affect our lives either negatively or positively.

We may not know, but just as cheese needs one with a sound intellectual to play with, so does football need one with sound intellects to understand it, play it, and love it because it will need all the calculations we ever know to form a strong team and keep the defense team strong from their opponent.

Have we also imagined what I would look like in schools if a teacher wants to earn the focus of his students, making them or encouraging them to do something they enjoy doing most especially the boys will give him that edge over the other teachers or perhaps teaching them difficult solutions using the football field will do a better job?

Well, I have seen a video of a teacher who taught his pupils how to do a particular solution they don't seem to understand on the field while they playing football helped them get good grades during exams and it helped him get the students to focus because it makes class interesting.

That's how much football is important in our society. We get to see people who do not even understand what is going on try to watch intently and curiously what the score would be so they too can tell someone when they hear others talk about the match.

Of all the games, football is one of the widely accepted games in the world, there is no country, state, or nation that isn't involved in football, unlike other games, although they are known, not many are wholeheartedly involved in it or get to put much interest or emphasis on it like it is done in football.
