The word "measure" has multiple meanings. It can refer to the action of determining the size, amount, or degree of something using tools or estimations. It can also mean a standard for comparison, a method of achieving something, or an amount or unit in a measuring system. Additionally, "measure" can be used to describe a judge's estimation of someone's ability or character, or to have the measure of someone, meaning to understand them well. Link

I will dwell on determining the size of something. I understood the meaning and the essence of measurement when I did technical drawing in highschool. A little adjustment in the measurement or calculation will have an effect on the result of the work.

So, measurement has to be precise.
It must be done with carefulness and accuracy to get a desired result. Measure this is saying put your effort to carefully into this.
