The literal meaning of plucking the duck is plucking off their feathers as explained above. But a more figurative expression of the prompt is the part that plucking the duck is a fugly girl, who thinks she an hot stuff but actually everyone hates her and complains behind her back.
It is really a nice concept to tag the plucking of the duck, although I only see this kind of expression in the movies it is still fun to see and understand.
