"Shock him" means to cause someone to feel a strong feeling of surprise, dismay, or horror. It can refer to the emotional impact of something unexpected or offensive, or in some contexts, it can refer to causing a physical jolt or electrical shock. Link

Even though shock can be classified into various forms, I'm not sure if they can all play out at once. But being shocked is part of life because you will certainly experience shock one way or another in your life, most times it might even be in the unexpected.
