Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 171 - Let love lead!
Hello everyone, how are you doing today?
The quote by Peter Ustinov is an inspiration to me; it is basically what holds the world together. I totally agree with what the quote says and quite frankly it is what I practice myself and it has helped me tremendously.
This is the quote: “Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look to which becomes a habit.” – Peter Ustinov
Quite remarkable, isn’t it?
The truth is that love comes with sacrifices; one of such sacrifice is to forgive those you love. In fact it serves as evidence that you truly love them when you forgive them. The best way to live in peace is through the act of forgiveness, it can be hard at first but as you go on it becomes a part of you and in no time it becomes a habit.
One major option I chose to explore personally was that I forgive ahead of time, meaning I forgive you even before you offend or hurt me. I discovered it was easier to forgive that way than holding on to a grudge; I calmed myself with the fact that we are all humans and it could have been me. I learnt this principle from Pastor Adeyemi, Senior pastor at Daystar church and it has blessed me immensely. I suggest you adopt the same principle.
I cannot imagine not being able to forgive someone you claim to love, I mean, love is peace and it is good. So, to be peaceful, you need to keep forgiving, it is endless because people will hurt you, that’s for sure. Someone said, unforgiveness is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. It makes you miserable, so let it go.
Let love lead you always. The good thing about love is that it increases and becomes a part of you the more you make use of it. The more you love, the more you forgive, and the more it becomes a usual habit to you. Then the happier you become.
“Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look to which becomes a habit.” – Peter Ustinov
Thank you for your time...
