The battle of the Emerging Asia Cup ended with fierce competition. Where Pakistan won the title by defeating India. Eight teams from Asia participated in this tournament held in Sri Lanka. Those teams were divided into two groups. Fans witnessed several exciting matches on the group stage. After a series of dramas, the emerging team of Pakistan finally wins the title!
Several teams were favorites to win the title in this year's Emerging Asia Cup. Along with India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, host Sri Lanka were far ahead. The Afghanistan team performed better than expected as an emerging team. The rest of the teams failed to perform well.
This year's Emerging Asia Cup tournament begins with a match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Batting first in that match, Sri Lanka set a target of 340+ runs. The Bangladesh team failed to win after chasing that huge target. As a result, Bangladesh started the tournament with a loss. However, despite losing the first match, the Bangladesh Emerging team made a comeback in the next matches.
The Tigers won the next two matches. Bangladesh defeated Oman and Afghanistan to reach the semi-finals. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and hosts Sri Lanka entered the semi-finals after the group stage. The remaining three teams, including Afghanistan, were eliminated from the group stage. The hosts Sri Lanka and Pakistan face each other in the first semi-final to qualify for the final. India and Bangladesh meet in the 2nd semi-final.
Pakistan's team gave Sri Lanka a big run target in the first semi. Hosts got a great start while chasing the massive target of 320+ runs. But in the end, they could not continue their performance. The two batsmen collected individual 97 runs, but the rest of the team's players were completely unsuccessful that day. In the end, the host Sri Lanka left the tournament with a loss of 60 runs.
In the other semi-final, Bangladesh had to lose in the end despite creating great chances to win against India. The Bangladeshi bowlers were able to stop India with few runs by bowling in the beginning. But the team's performance with the bat was disappointing. Despite the opening pair of 70 runs, they lost the match by 51 runs, which is unacceptable! Apart from the two openers, not a single batsman was able to do well in this match
After the semi-final match, India and Pakistan faced each other in the final. Although India beat Pakistan easily in the group stage, the scenario of the final was very different. In the final, Pakistan batted first and set a huge target of 350 runs India could not win by that run. As a result, Pakistan won the Emerging Asia Cup title again in 2019!
