FIFA WORD CUP

The 2022 Qatar World Cup group stage game ended with various incidents. What happened in this year's group stage matches may not have happened in any other World Cup group stage matches. Teams like Germany, Belgium, and Uruguay have been left out. Did anyone think that a big team like theirs will depart from the group stage? They can be thought of. According to many, this year's World Cup group stage tie has been the most crowded and full of excitement ever.

However, this year the Asian teams have shown the biggest surprise in the World Cup. More than one team has beaten the European giants to reach the knock-out stage. Again, many teams couldn't qualify for the second round, but besides making history by defeating the giant teams. Which makes the World Cup has become more interesting.

Saudi Arabia showed its first surprise as an Asian country in this year's World Cup. They beat Argentina, who started the World Cup with the title of hot favorite, by 2-1. Stopped Argentina's unbeaten streak of 36 consecutive matches. This created a huge possibility for them to qualify for the knock-out stage. But in the end, they couldn't qualify. One win and two losses in Group C ended their Qatar World Cup mission in fourth place with 3 points.

Now let's talk about Japan, who known as the peaceful country in Asia. What Japan has done in this World Cup deserves praise. In the first match, they beat four-time world champion Germany. They won that match by 2-1. The win gives them a strong chance of advancing to the second round.

However, they failed to beat Costa Rica, a relatively easy opponent, in the next match. As a result, they must beat Spain, who are in great form to go to the next round. That was the equation. That's what they did! After Germany, they beat Spain by 2-1 to become the champions of the group stage and qualified for the knockout stage. In a group with teams like Germany and Spain, winning as a champion of the group is not an easy task. Which is truly commendable and a matter of pride for Asians.

South Korea, another Asian country, has also done the impossible. They started with a draw against Uruguay but lost against Ghana in the second match. As a result, it became almost impossible for them to qualify for the second round. But they made the impossible possible. They qualified as runners-up of Group H for the knock-out stage of the Dream World Cup. They defeated Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. This is also the pride for Asians.

The famous team of cricket Australia has also secured their place in the knockout stage as another Asian, which is unbelievable! They will face Argentina in the last sixteen.

Along with Asians, Africans have also performed well in this World Cup. Senegal and Morocco are great examples. Asia and Africa's performance against America and Europe deserves praise.

I want to congratulate Japan, South Korea & Australia for their achievement. CONGRATULATIONS!

Japan blew my away by recording two 2-1 wins against Germany and Spain. Purely unbelievable! Just goes to show football is not always about big names and ball hugging.

I agree it was quite phenomenal. Beating Germany I thought was a huge achievement but they've been underachieving for quite some time and buckle on the big stage. The Spain win I think proved that they're the real deal of Asia.

Japan has produced more Asian football superstars in the last 20 years than any Asian country. Those guys have quietly improved their football despite having a less talked about football league compared to the likes of Chinese Super League. I will definitely watch their match against Croatia, they will play with full confidence.

I'm an Aussie and what we were able to achieve was phenomenal. Also Japan and South Korea was next level too. I thought the Middle-East Asian countries were going to excel more than South-East Asia and Australia. It's been that sort of a world cup hasn't it. A great advertisement for Asian football.

If the Socceroos were able to capitalize their late onslaught, they could've won it 3-2. The match was entertaining and lots of things to learn.

Indeed one of the best tournament so far for the Asians indeed. I hope they can get past the semi-finals stage. The current highest achievement so far by an AFC team is the 2002 semi-finals against Germany.
