The Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has ended. Pakistan team visited Sri Lanka to play a two-match test series. After defeating the host Sri Lanka in the first match, Pakistan won the second match as well. Pakistan won the first match by four wickets. This time the team won the second match by 222 runs and an innings difference. As a result, the Pakistan Test team led by Babar Azam won the series by 2-0.
It was not easy for Pakistan to win the Test series against Sri Lanka on the soil of Sri Lanka. But everyone has done a great performance in batting and bowling. Along with that, Pakistan added four valuable points in the Test Championship!
The first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium in Galle, Sri Lanka. Both teams have lined up their XI with their strongest players. At the beginning of that match, the host Sri Lanka captain Karunaratne won the toss and decided to bat. They planned to put the visiting Pakistan under run pressure by collecting well early on.
In that match, two openers Nishan Madushka and Dimuth Karunaratne failed to give the team a good start but the middle-order batsmen performed brilliantly. Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva batted well and Sri Lanka scored 312 runs in the first innings. In response, Pakistan lost the first five wickets in the team's 100 runs. Later, Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman's impeccable performance stopped Pakistan's first innings at 461 runs.
Sri Lanka were all out for 279 runs in the 2nd innings. As a result, Pakistan's target for victory is only 131 runs. That is not the run that Pakistan scored easily. The team lost six wickets to win by scoring 131 runs. In the end, Pakistan won the series by 4 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
After the first test, Pakistan won the second test very easily. Sri Lanka won the toss in the 2nd Test as well but luck did not help them. After winning the toss and batting first, hosts Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 166 runs. Apart from de Silva, no one has managed to score a personal 50. Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah bowled brilliantly for Pakistan. In reply to Sri Lanka's first innings, Pakistan scored a record number of runs. They declared their innings at 576 runs.
Sri Lanka came into the field in their 2nd innings from 400+ runs behind. They started the 2nd innings well but could not hold on. After the first innings, they failed to cross the team's 200 runs in the 2nd innings as well. Pakistan won by 222 runs and an innings while Sri Lanka was bowled out for just 188 runs. With this, the Pakistan team won the Test series in Sri Lanka with a margin of 2-0.
