Work walks and orchid surprise: May 24 2023
Yesterday I woke up with cloudy head around 6am and texted my boss that I will get to work after my blood tests which was at 9am.
I don’t mind blood tests, but whoever does them usually struggles to find the vein to take it from. They’re very deceiving - you can see them, but as soon as the needle goes in, they hide 😂 As a result I get pricked many times and sometimes nearly faint.
This time round the nurse was warned and prepared, so she got it first time and took 5 bottles of blood. Seeing it made me a bit dizzy, but I was ok to drive to work soon afterwards.
The weather has jumped from winter temps to summer temps in this past week and I was hoping to see Avatar 2 during my bday weekend, but since it’s not in any cinema around us, Nunzia and I decided to go to Bournemouth beach instead. She mentioned a nice walk that she wasn’t able to do for years and sent me this google search result for the views on that walk and I was sold!
Later, after work I went to Tina, as I missed our usual Tuesday meetup due to doctors appointment.
There I found a few surprises. Firstly she prepared little bday gifts for me, which I forgot to take a picture of 🙈
Secondly, I noticed her little Phalaenopsis orchid is in bloom.
She has 2 of them mini’s planted in one pot in clay pebbles and now that she moved it to a brighter windowsill they both have flower spikes although only one of them opened so far.
I need to remember to come to this room upon my next visit, as I’d love to see and capture them both in bloom 😍

I am the same. I always tell tell them bring on the special chair for me I'm very prone to fainting. I can't watch it go in or watch the blood go out.
