Barca could not keep Messi by buying Aguero-Memphis

So did Barcelona not hold Lionel Messi?

That may seem to be the case with La Liga president Javier Tevez. If Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depi Lionel had not been included in the squad, or Messi could have been retained, the La Liga president said.

Meanwhile, Barca is drowning in a debt of 140 crore Euros. Messi's contract could not be renewed within the salary limit set by La Liga, the Catalan club said while releasing the Argentine star.

However, Barca president Juan Laporta said in August that Messi could have been retained if he had agreed to sell 10 per cent of La Liga's business to CVC Capital Partners. The La Liga president was at loggerheads with over his disagreement with the deal.

Barca did not agree to this mission of about 26 crore Euros. Laporta said agreeing to the deal with the CVC would mean a future mortgage for.

Tebas, meanwhile, claims that Barca could have retained Messi if he had agreed to a deal with the CVC. Or Messi could have kept the club even if he hadn't bought the two attacking players, Memphis Depi and Sergio Aguero.

In an interview with Spanish media, Tebas claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had persuaded the president to refrain from signing the deal, saying, "I had dinner at Laporta's house. He then agreed to the CVC agreement.

Tebas then explained the whole thing from his point of view, ‘I didn’t know if Messi could have renewed his contract because of this (CVC deal). But later I got a phone call (from Laporta) - “Is it possible to speed up the CVC deal? The boy (Messi) can't be trusted. " I told him that this (CVC) issue would be tried in public by Florentino. Laporta then said, no, no problem, I will be firm. There is no doubt that Florentino is behind this.

Tebas added: "The deal was that if signed the CVC, they would be able to spend 15 per cent of that money on players. In my opinion, they could have held Messi. Laporta got players like Memphis and Aguero to sign ... If they hadn't signed, they could have kept Messi. ''

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao did not agree to the CVC deal. Apart from this, 17 clubs in La Liga have agreed to contracts and received a lot of money in a short period of time. In return, CVC will take 10 percent of La Liga revenue (including TV rights) for the next 50 years. However, the company will not be able to handle the income of Real, Barca and Bilbao.
