Los Bravos de Margarita siguen sin creer en nadie y ganaron su octavo juego de los últimos 10, al derrotar en el estadio universitario de Caracas a los alicaídos Tiburones de La Guaira, con marcador de 4 rayitas a 2. El abridor Félix Doubront lanzó cinco sólidas entradas en las que aceptó 2 anotaciones, regaló 3 pasaportes y ponchó a 5 oponentes. El resto del bullpen hizo el trabajo para dejar mirando los bates de los grandes ligas a bordo del line-up cartilaginoso. La defensiva isleña produjo 3 doble matanzas para apagar cualquier rebelión de los escualos. Carlos Pérez fue la grúa margariteña al batear de 3-2 e impulsar 3 (incluyendo un cuadrangular productor de 2).       The Bravos de Margarita keep rolling with no respect for anybody, bagging their eighth dub in the last ten by knocking off the slumping Tiburones de La Guaira at the Universitario in Caracas, 4 runs to 2. Starter Félix Doubront spun five solid innings, giving up 2 tallies, issuing 3 walks, and fanning 5 bats. The rest of the bullpen slammed the door, leaving the big leaguers in the Tiburones lineup staring at strike three. The island defense turned 3 twin killings to snuff out any rally from the Tiburones. Carlos Pérez was the heavy lifter, going 2-for-3 with 3 ribbies, including a two-run bomb. With the win, the Bravos stretch their lead atop the standings to 3 games over the closest chaser and stamp themselves as the squad to beat in the round-robin (magic number down to 3). Meanwhile, the Tiburones sink to seventh, 5 games off the top and a game and a half shy of the playoff cut.

     Con la conciencia de que no hay mañana, los Leones del Caracas obtuvieron una victoria precaria ante el equipo más caliente de la liga Cardenales de Lara, al vencerles por 7 anotaciones a 6. Y fue precaria porque los pájaros rojos estuvieron a punto de voltear el marcador en el noveno episodio, al anotar dos carreras y no poder rematar la faena. Los melenudos desaprovecharon una excelente apertura de Wilmer Font de cinco innings completos de dos carreras, con 8 cohetes concedidos, sin aceptar boletos y ponchando a 4 contrarios. El bullpen caraqueño no pudo sostener la ventaja y casi permite una dejada en el terreno que hubiese acabado con la temporada felina. Harold Castro y Salvador Pérez fueron las bujías capitalinas al traer par de anotaciones cada uno a la goma. Con el triunfo, el Caracas sobrevive una jornada más en el sótano a 5,5 de la punta y a dos juegos de la clasificación; mientras, Cardenales se aleja en el segundo lugar 3 juegos de la azotea.

     With the mindset that there’s no tomorrow, the Leones del Caracas scraped out a shaky win against the hottest squad in the league, the Cardenales de Lara, edging them 7–6. And shaky it was, since the red birds nearly flipped the scoreboard in the ninth, plating two runs but failing to close the deal. The melenudos wasted a strong outing from Wilmer Font, who went five full innings allowing just 2 runs on 8 knocks, no walks, and 4 punchouts. The Caracas bullpen almost coughed it up, flirting with a walk-off that could’ve buried the felines’ season. Harold Castro and Salvador Pérez lit the fuse for the capital crew, each driving in a pair. With the win, Caracas lives to fight another day, still stuck in the cellar 5.5 games off the top and two out of the playoff cut; meanwhile, the Cardenales hold firm in second, three games back of the summit.

     Por último, los Caribes de Anzoátegui dejaron en el terreno con cuadrangular de 3 carreras de Diego Infante a los Tigres de Aragua, con pizarra de 9 carreras a 6. Al cierre del noveno episodio, los orientales perdían por una y remontaron el marcador de manera espectacular. 8 lanzadores desfilaron por la lomita de Caribes para contener la peligrosa alineación felina. Además de Infante, Hernán Pérez y Balbino Fuenmayor jonronearon también colocando a Caribes adelante en los primeros 5 episodios. Pero los Tigres lograron voltear la pizarra poco a poco, hasta que fueron emboscados. Caribes empató el segundo lugar de la tabla con la victoria a 3 juegos de la vanguardia, mientras que los felinos bajan al cuarto empatando con la Águilas a 3 y medio juegos de diferencia con Bravos.      Finally, the Caribes de Anzoátegui walked it off with a three-run blast from Diego Infante against the Tigres de Aragua, sealing a 9–6 scoreboard. Heading into the bottom of the ninth the Orientales were down one, but flipped the script in spectacular fashion. Eight different arms paraded through the mound for Caribes to keep the dangerous feline lineup in check. Besides Infante, Hernán Pérez and Balbino Fuenmayor also went yard, staking Caribes to an early lead through the first five frames. The Tigres clawed back little by little until they got ambushed late. With the win, Caribes pull even for second place, three games off the top, while the Tigres drop to fourth, tied with the Águilas and sitting three and a half back of the Bravos.
