Han cedido 5 puestos en el power ranking reciente desde Enero (lugar 19) y la verdad andan llevándose las manos a la cabeza. Perdieron en la temporada baja al as de la rotación Brandon Woodruff por cirugía del hombro derecho (60 días para recuperarse) y su cerrador estrella Devin Williams se fracturó dos huesos de la espalda por estrés. Cuando no tienes a tus dos lanzadores más confiables (abridor y cerrador) en un equipo construido alrededor del pitcheo, tu futuro no es brillante. Cuarto doloroso lugar en la división para un equipo que había sido una dictadura en los últimos años.

     Los Cardenales de San Luis sorprendieron renovando el contrato de Oliver Mármol y no es que lo hiciera tan mal el año pasado, pero el equipo no se vio como la reluciente taza entregada a principio de año.      The St. Louis Cardinals surprised by renewing Oliver Marmol's contract and he didn't do too badly last year, but the team didn't look like the shiny mug delivered at the beginning of the year. The off-season signings focused on reducing the collective high effectiveness of the pitching staff in 2023 and if the offense keeps up the level, they will be one of the three teams fighting for the division lead. The average age of the rotation crosses 32 years and this makes us not put it higher: third place at the end of the campaign.

     Los Rojos de Cincinnati parecen llegar al final de su período de reconstrucción y con balance de 9 ganados - 11 derrotas pareciera andan hundidos aún. Sin embargo, tal performance es engañoso tal como lo demuestra su quinceavo lugar en el power ranking ¿Por qué? Tres de sus talentosos abridores están completamente recuperados de las dolencia que tuvieron el año pasado, un par de firmas en el invierno hacen a los Rojos la quinta rotación con más potencial en las mayores ¿las dudas?
