Ayer fue día de traslados de ciudad y fue muy poca la actividad (6 partidos) en la gran carpa. Acusamos la lectura de una crónica que contiene los power rankings de los lanzadores latinos. En él aparecen 3 venezolanos, ahí les dejamos el enlace. Entonces, vamos a checar las posiciones de los conjuntos a éstas alturas de la temporada. La vanguardia del este de la liga Americana ha sido asaltada por los Rays de Tampa, quienes han estado jugando pelota caribe, siendo los líderes en éste estilo para enfrentar la falta de ofensiva. Dejaron a los Yankees atrás por dos juegos de ventaja porque éstos últimos están metidos en una racha de juegos perdidos que alcanza ya a 4. Baltimore, Toronto y Boston, no parecieran ya contar para la postemporada, dada la distancia de 9 juegos (como mínimo) detrás de los líderes de la división.

Meanwhile, Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, and the Twins are all bunched up within three games, so we’ve gotta keep a close eye on this race. Out West, the Sacramento A's are cruising in first place thanks to their heavy lumber, with Seattle and Texas breathing down their necks just 2.5 games back as the biggest threats. At the bottom of the barrel, the Angels and Astros are sitting 6+ games out, asking themselves what the heck is going wrong—and they better find answers fast before they get buried.

Meanwhile, the Pirates and Reds seem to have run out of gas, despite being only 5 games off the pace. Either way, this division is a toss-up where anyone can get hot, but right now, the North Siders are the ones with the hot hand.

Por último, el oeste de la Nacional parecía un paseo sin contratiempos para los todopoderosos Dodgers, hasta que los Padres de San Diego han puesto orden en la competencia. And yeah, the Rockies are playing better ball than last year and acting as spoilers for a few teams, but it won’t mean much if their everyday grinders don't start finding some holes in the defense.
