[ENG-ESP] TRIBUTE TO "O REY" PELÉ (R.I.P.)

Yesterday, the world of soccer and sports in general learned terrible news: King Pelé left this world at the age of 82, all soccer fans worldwide were shaken by this unfortunate fact just days after the end of the World Cup. King Pelé is considered one of the best, if not the best player of all time, owner of 3 world cups, something that no other player has achieved, "O Rey" as he was known is considered the father of modern soccer, since that everything that is done now he did it before anyone else, together with his champion team creators of "Jogo Bonito" without a doubt a great loss but that leaves a great legacy. I have made this drawing as a tribute to him, full of everything an elite athlete should aspire to, I hope you like it.

Ayer, el mundo del futbol y deporte en general supo una terrible noticia: El Rey Pelé abandonó este mundo a sus 82 años, todos los fanáticos del futbol a nivel mundial fueron sacudidos por este hecho tan lamentable justo días después de terminar la Copa Mundial. El Rey Pelé es considerado uno de los mejores, sino el mejor jugador de todos los tiempos, dueño de 3 copas mundiales, cosa que ningún otro jugador ha conseguido, "O Rey" como era conocido se le considera el padre del futbol moderno, ya que todo lo que se hace ahora él lo hizo antes que nadie, junto a su selección campeona creadores del "Jogo Bonito" sin duda una gran perdida pero que deja un gran legado. He realizado este dibujo en tributo hacia su persona, llena de todo lo que un deportista de élite debe aspirar, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

Unlike the previous drawings, this time I chose a gray cardboard, since I wanted to make the uniform that Pelé used at that time look well drawn. I made a very easy sketch with a pencil and a soft line to start, delimiting each area of ​​the body, then I began to shape it from the head, going through the chest and arms and finally the hips and legs.

A diferencia de los dibujos anteriores esta vez escogí una cartulina de color gris, ya que quería hacer que el unforme que utilizaba Pelé en aquella época quedara bien dubujado. Hice un boceto muy facil con un lápiz y trazo suave para comenzar, delimitando cada zona del cuerpo, despues comencé a darle forma desde la cabeza, pasando por el pecho y los brazos y por último las caderas y piernas.

After having the sketch well delimited and in shape, I begin to paint the face, this part was very difficult for me, because the entire area of ​​the face was very small, so I went for the next, which was to paint with white color and from there start to darken in all areas, it was very difficult to make the skin tone and at the same time look realistic.

Luego de tener el boceto bien delimitado y en forma comienzo ma pintar el rostro, esta parte me costó mucho, porque toda la zona del rostro era muy pequeña, así que fui por lo seguor, que fue pintar con color blanco y a partir de ahí comenzar a oscurecer en todas las zonas, fue muy dificil hacer el tono de piel y que al mismo tiempo se viera con un efecto realista.

I did several layers of color on the face to obtain the skin tone more in line with King Pelé's tone, then I began to paint the flannel of the Brazilian soccer team using a light yellow color. Then with a white color I made the illuminated parts of the flannel and then I used slightly stronger yellow colors and a little ocher yellow, this to degrade the color until it brought it to the brown color of the shadows on the fabric.

El rostro le hice varias capas de color para poder obtener el tono de piel más acorde al tono del Rey Pelé, seguidamente comencé a pintar la franela de la selección brasileña de futbol utilizando un color amarillo claro. Después con un color blanco hice las partes iluminadas de la franela y despue sutilicé color amarillos un poco mas fuertes y un poco de amarillo ocre, esto para degradar el color hasta llevarlo al color café de las sombras sobre la tela.

The next step was to continue with part of the uniform, in this case the blue shorts, using the same technique as in the flannel but with the difference in color, I used a light blue color to begin with and white, later for the shadows. I used navy blue. Simultaneously I was also painting the extremities such as the arms and legs trying to follow the same tone of the face and that it would not be otherwise.

El siguiente paso fue continuar con parte del uniforme, en este caso el short de color azul, utilizando la misma técnica que en la franela pero con la diferencia en el color, utilicé un color azul claro para comenzar y color blanco, después para las sombras utilicé color azul marino. Simultáneamente también fui pintando las extremidades como los brazos y piernas tratando de seguir el mismo tono del rostro y que no quedara de otra manera.

To finish I did the rest of the body like the legs, the shoes and also part of the arms, I think that I followed the skin tone very well in the color mixtures that I used. I added the ball so that the design could be seen better, and this drawing of King Pelé was finished!

Para finalizar hice el resto del cuerpo como las piernas, los zapatos y tambien parte de los brazos, creo que seguí muy bien el tono de piel en la mezclas de colores que usé. Agregué el balón para que se viera mejor el diseño, y así quedó finalizado este dibujo del Rey Pelé!

FINAL WORK

Finally, with a brush I blurred all the lines so that the finish would look a little better. Whenever I finish a drawing, it takes a long time to consider that I have been satisfied, it is a hobby that I have. However, I am satisfied with this drawing of the tireless goalscorer from Brazil, it is said that Pelé scored more than a thousand goals in his career, although there are many who doubt it, beyond that the weight of his legacy and history cannot be denied of this great legend. I hope you liked the drawing of this world idol, I say goodbye until a new opportunity.

Por último con un pincel hice un difuminado de todos los trazos para que el acabado se viera un poco mejor. Siempre que termino un dibujo pasa mucho tiempo para considerar que he quedado conforme, es una manía que tengo. Sin embargo he quedafo conforme con este dibujo del goleador incansable de Brasil, se dice que Pelé anotó más de mil goles en su carrera, aunque hay muchos que lo dudan, más allá de eso no se puede negar el peso de su legado y la historia de esta gran leyenda. Espero que les haya gustado el dibujo den este ídolo mundial, me despido hasta una nueva oportunidad.
