My Actifit Report Card: August 20 2025 | My Activ Journey Today - With a Lesson on Quality Healthcare
Today's whole day was very active and energetic for me. From the morning, I started my routine with good movements and fitness. Morning walks, a little running and my normal works kept me active throughout the day. I always feel a positive energy while tracking my steps and physical movements throughout the day. It is true that when a person pays attention to his health and fitness, the whole day seems light and fresh. Something similar happened to me even today. I was happy all day, spent a good time with friends and family and my mind was thinking that today is a perfect day.
But by evening, my experience changed completely. Actually, I had to take my grandfather to the Cancer Hospital. As soon as he went there, he forced me to think deeply. Being a person associated with the healthcare sector, my eyes always go to infection control, aseptic techniques and patient safety. I thought that in a large hospital, which treats a serious disease like cancer and who also has quality certificates, at least there would be at least Basic Infection Prevention and Safe Injection Practices. But my expectations were broken by going there.
I noticed that the syringe was lying in the open in many places, on which the sticker was clearly written "Single use only", but still he was placed for use by applying three-way stop cocks on them. Cotton balls were lying in the open without covered. At one place, the medicine was pulled from the syringe and left in the open tray. Seeing this scene, I was very sorry that even in such a large hospital where patients are already weak, the basic rules of infection control are being taken lightly.
Actually, Safe Injection Practices and Aseptic Technique are not small things. It is directly related to the patient's life and the security of the staff. When the syringe is re -used or placed in an open environment, bacteria and viruses can flourish easily. A patient's blood or medicine residue can reach another patient. Its results can be very dangerous.
⚠️ What problems can occur as a result?
The first and serious problem is cross infection. That is, the disease or infection of one patient reach another patient. It is especially dangerous for diseases that spread through blood - such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. If a small Injection Practice goes wrong, then the patient may get disease for life.
In addition, the risk of sepsis and bloodstream infections in patients greatly increases. SEPSIS is a condition where infection spreads throughout the body and the patient may have to move to the ICU. Many times it can also prove to be fatal.
Not only the patient, the staff is also in risk. If the syringe or needle is not disposed of properly, the healthcare works can be injury to needle sticks, which can also cause them to be vulnerable to serious diseases.
This is the reason why the World Health Organization (WHO) and all national-international health agencies repeatedly say that Safe Injection Practices are mandatory. This includes:
Use of new and sterilized syringes every time
Soon after use to dispose of it in Sharp Container
Do not re-use three-way or any IV access device
Drugs and cotton covered and keeping in stral environment
And the most important-to train the staff repeatedly infection control.
When I was watching all this, I felt that only Certificate or Accreditation Taking a quality healthcare is not a guarantee. The real quality is only when every small infection is implemented on the prevention of prevention. No patient hospital comes to the hospital only for treatment, but he comes from relying that he will be kept safe here. If the same security is at stake, then all the certificates and claims become useless.
Today's experience was a great learning for me. I paid attention to my fitness and activity throughout the day, but in the evening it was understood in the hospital that real healthcare and wellness are not fulfilled by doing fitness only on the individual level. Till the hospital and health system adopt safe practice, it will be difficult to keep patients completely safe.
I believe that we should spread awareness at every level. Whether it is a hospital management, nursing staff or a patient and their family - everyone has to understand that Safe Injection is not just a rule, but a guarantee of saving the life of the patient. If we ignore infection control and safe injection, no matter how many modern machines and crtifications we have, the lives of patients will remain in danger.
Therefore, with today's activity report, I want to give a message that fitness and health are not limited to just counting and active. It is much more than that. When we go to the hospital, we should also see that there we are really getting Safe Healthcare or just hanging the certificate for showing.

Wow what you observed is really bad lol how a cancer institution don't follow all the rules?
My dear, hospitals don't even care about people's health. What they are afraid er is your money and not your health. It is now their general disease
