My Actifit Report Card: August 15 2023

SO. HOT. TODAY.
I did wander the upper property and found the litter left by hot preening eagles. When the temps rise the feathers fall, and I don' t blame them one bit as the feathers are not a cooling device. Stupid good dinner that was all from our farm save spices.

Seems it's hot everywhere! That's a nice bunch of feathers. Hopefully, the eagles will be cooler.

The birds can get REALLY hot so they will start pulling out feathers to help them cool off. They then grow in the downy feathers again for winter to keep them warm. I see it every summer when the heats hit like this.
