My Actifit Report Card: September 16 2023
Erection day was a success. The hangar is up and my plane fits like I knew what I was doing. The spare wing is hung inside with the aileron up out of the way and I setup one of our tables for a work bench. One LED shop light is nicely bright at night but I will add 3 more at the corners. Tekoa got shut down so no flying today and tomorrow will be nuking so more work on the hangar and plane.

Flightstar 2 SL. I have the wings folded for transport and storage in the hangar.
That’s very impressive!
I am a licensed pilot but have never flown an ultralight.
I always thought about it, having the ability to use your own property for your airfield.
What power plant are you using?
The Flightstar 2 is a LSA topping at 950lbs. I have a 503 on it with electric start and tuned exhaust. I have enough hours to get my sport license but need to get current before testing. Down the road I will be looking to make a runway on the south of our property, but it will only end up 50x200ft which should be enough for me in this.

I didn’t know about a “sport license” certificate.
I seem to recall EAA aircraft required a medical certificate only……..
Back “in the day” when I got my license!😇
With a sport license, is a check ride required?

Yeah there is a check ride and knowledge test but I have the wonderful luxury of having a flight instructor who I fly with in our para and hang gliding club who lives a mile up the river from us. He has flown hang gliders for 47 years and used to own an ultralight business and taught people and has offered to help me. Super cool! Everything that is happening with this plane is falling into place so nicely and almost like it is all meant to be. I HAVE been dreaming of this for most of my life so maybe it is just a long manifestation?
