After nine rounds of play in Serie A, AC Milan and Napoli have taken the lead, as both teams have picked up 25 out of 27 possible points. Tonight, the Milanese could try to keep their undefeated squad alive when they were visited by the central team from Turin.

The home team certainly did not get off to a very good start with the match, but they still took the lead after 13 minutes of play. Rade Krunic appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. Here, experienced Oliver Giroud had placed himself, and it was no problem for the Frenchman to make it 1-0 in the small box.

Torino were certainly not out of the match despite the early goal against them. The visitors were constantly stressed by AC Milan, who did not manage to settle for the match at all. It instead became a match with a lot of duels and ball losses in the middle of the field.

There was not much offensive play to write home about, and Giroud's lead was pretty much the only chance the first 45 minutes offered.

AC Milan could therefore go to the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.

The home team did not do particularly well in the second half either, and it was the visitors who started to have the ball more and more, but they still had an incredibly hard time playing their way to chances against a well-playing Milan defender who had added Simon Love during the break.

A quarter of an hour before time, it was so close to going wrong for the home team when Torino finally came up with a chance and it was a big one of its kind. Antonio Sanabri came in to finish the match, and Ciprian Tatarusanu made a great save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.

Ten minutes later, it was once again about to go wrong for Milan. Dennis Praet did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.

The home team managed to hold on, and was able to celebrate the victory after 95 minutes of play. With the victory, Milan goes past Napoli in first place in Serie A, as Napoli only play on Thursday against Bologna.
