Mourinho set to sign new goalkeeper
Portuguese Jose Mourinho was fired in mid-April by Tottenham after just one and a half years in the post of manager. Shortly after his dismissal, he was presented as the new coach of Italian AS Roma, where he has now started to create a team that will fight at the top of Italian football.
"The Special One" has already signed contract with last year's rental profiles, Chris Smalling and Carlos Perez, but the reinforcement of the squad is not over yet. According to Italian Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho is close to bringing compatriot Rui Patricio to the goalkeeper post.
Patricio has been performing for the Portuguese colony in Wolverhampton since 2018 under manager Nuno Espirito Santo, but now the 33-year-old national team player is close to a switch to the Italian capital club.
Wolverhampton initially demanded about 29 Million for Patricio, but it seems that Roma are in the process of picking him up for just half.
Great move from Mourinho and As Roma for the Portuguese goalie. Rui Patricio seem to be doing really well for his age.
He has so far been impressive at the Euros. Didn't know he was that quite good. Hope the deal pulls through
