The reverse meeting in Madrid gave great promise for Wednesday's clash at Anfield between strong Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, who are always a tough opponent. The home team comes after a minor disappointment after 2-2 at home against Brighton in a match where "The Reds" were otherwise ahead 2-0 and cruised against three safe points.

Out of nowhere, Brighton turned it all upside down and the result ended with one point for each. Before the match against Brighton, Jürgen Klopp's troops showed impressive football with a 3-2 victory over Atletio in the reverse meeting, and the match after they crushed Manchester United with a full 5-0 at Old Trafford.

After the weekend's poor result, Klopp was far from satisfied with his team, and I wonder if he will demand a little more on Wednesday, when Liverpool with a victory, will secure the further participation in this year's Champions League.

The guests from Madrid are under pressure and they must have points on the account. Just four points after the first three games, however, is no disaster as it keeps them in an instant second place in the pool. Porto, however, follows suit with just as many points, and therefore the showdown is important for the Spaniards.

Diego Simeone's team will probably come with good confidence, as they certainly won 3-0 over Betis on Sunday. In addition, they can probably also find confidence in the fact that they, after all, sent Liverpool out into the Champions League darkness last season.

However, the home side have the best cards on hand before Wednesday, and Liverpool also have the world's probably best striker in Mohammed Salah ready to terrorize the visitors' strong defensive once again.
