Another indoor cycling sprint session... my training diary entry from January 8 2026

(Made this shot yesterday night when I walked home from work. It was snowing a lot for hours.)
Hi Actifitters,
after a great feeling cycling session two days ago yesterday was the next workout on my smart trainer. Again my Garmin watch suggested a sprint session with another structure. Here you can see what it was about:
20 minutes warm-up at 145 watts
4 x 0:10 at 390 watts (two minutes recovery between each interval at 75 watts)
5 minutes recovery at 125 watts
4 x 0:10 at 390 watts (two minutes recovery between each interval at 75 watts)
5 minutes recovery at 125 watts
4 x 0:10 at 390 watts (two minutes recovery between each interval at 75 watts)
15 minutes cool-down at 125 watts
I set myself a little side quest. I wanted to do 35 kilometers within the given time. So I had to speed everything up a bit.
Again the session felt pretty easy, although I tried to pedal much more intensely than in the previous training session. I'm curious to see where this all leads.
Here are some stats from yesterdays session:
Duration - 1:05:03
Distance - 35.82 km
Average speed - 33.0 km/h
Maximum speed - 52.4 km/h
Average power output - 120 watts
Maximum power output - 396 watts
Average heart rate - 134 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 165 bpm
Today my Garmin Enduro 3 has scheduled a base session because my training readiness went down a bit due to a short night without enough recovery. The third sprint session in a row was actually on the agenda. To be honest, I would have preferred that, but I'll go along with the suggestion.
