My rest day turned into 2.5 hours of low-intensity exercise.... my training diary entry from January 25 2026

Hi Actifitters,
yesterday, apart from my obligatory steps, I really just wanted to put my feet up. And that's exactly what it looked like at first. After my second coffee, I found myself lying on the sofa watching one YouTube video after another. Without really realizing it, I kept going back to the kitchen for something sweet, both to drink and to snack on. Then, at lunchtime, I added a large portion of pasta bake. It was around 2 p.m. when I realized I'd already more than used up my daily calorie allowance.
Bam! There it was... the guilty conscience.
So I pulled myself together and started with the remaining steps, followed by stretching and half an hour of core stability training. Afterwards, I hopped on my bike for just over an hour to cover 40 kilometers at a low heart rate, putting more energy into my legs, which were still tired from hiking.
Since I have a lot to do today, I will have the rest day that was planned for yesterday today.
