Immediately overloaded again... my training diary entry from April 16 2026

(Here you can see a whole row of dragon fruit cacti. These also grew in the garden of my first holiday accommodation in Udon Thani. Unfortunately, they were not yet bearing fruit at that time.)
Hi Actifitters,
since my values were the best they've been in a long time yesterday, I decided to have a harder training day.
Since I had several calls at work, I had to make the most of any gaps. So I started with 35 minutes of climbing 250 meters on my aerobic board. I hadn't done that for a while before my vacation, so my body wasn't used to it anymore. It was quite a sweaty workout, and I have noticeable muscle soreness in my calves today.
Following further calls, I wasn't able to train again until late afternoon. Now the new "Climb of the Week" was on the agenda. This one was a real challenge. If I'd had to climb just 20 meters more, I probably would have given up. The last five minutes were truly brutal. If I'd paced myself better at the beginning, it probably wouldn't have been so arduous towards the end, but I specifically wanted to push myself to my limits.
Here are some figures from yesterday's bike training:
Duration - 1:06:25
Distance - 24.06 km
Elevetaion gain - 613 m
Average speed - 21.7 km/h
Maximum speed - 91.1 km/h
Average power output - 187 watts
Maximum power output - 675 watts
Average heart rate - 159 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 186 bpm
Average cadence - 89
Maximum cadence - 119
Looking at my values in Garmin today, I probably should have taken it a little easier.
Sleep score - 53 (I always sleep badly when I've trained too hard.)
Body batterie - 39 (Poor overnight recovery)
Training readiness - 18 (The body simply wasn't ready for overly strenuous training.)
Now it's time to get my body back on track. Even though Garmin is suggesting a rest day, I'll be doing a bike ride today in addition to my steps, but at a very moderate intensity.
My body will get more time to recover tomorrow. A longer walk is planned, but that should be it for exercise tomorrow.

Are those Aloe Vera plants? Over 20k count is commendable. Kudos.
The image description tells you that they are dragon fruit cacti. 😉
I guessed wrong then, didn't zoom well enough.Anyway thank you for the correction 🤗.
Hi... Judging by the stats, it looks like the training session was pretty tough. If you ended up just like in the GIF, ha ha ha... you’re going to need two days of intense recovery.
Wow that's a banger work out congratulations on surviving it! How on earth did you get to 91km/h? That's Tour de France level... I never got to more than 50 in real life, despite efforts :-D Also the lack of descends that are survivable at that speed here. The roads are too bad, and the cars are even worse.
The 91 km/h speed is of course only achievable on a stationary trainer and with a 17% gradient. Under open skies, that would be a suicide mission.
Yeah, just the headwind of that velocity... Brutal!
