Elimination final, done.

All week the so-called experts had written Cronulla off.

Fifth vs eighth from the regular season, but apparently the Sharkies were dead in the water.

No chance.

The Roosters are the bigger club and the form team afterall.

Like Cronulla were just making up the numbers.

Ah how the media lapped it up.

But you don’t need to understand the game to know footy isn’t played on paper.

:)

Up up Cronulla

Elimination final, done.

Cronulla 20. Roosters 10.

You can tell from the highlights that the Roosters were hammering them at the start of the match.

Wave after wave, pressure everywhere.

But Cronulla didn’t blink, defending like absolute psychos.

Scrambling, desperate, brutal.

Exactly what finals footy should look like.

My boy Nicho Hynes kept his cool, controlling the pace, kicking smart and turning the screws when it mattered.

But it wasn’t just him.

This was the full pack snarling, hitting, dragging the Roosters down every time they thought they had space.

It wasn’t pretty. Finals games rarely are.

But the Sharks were tougher.

Hungrier.

Quite simply they wanted it more and were rewarded with a finals win at home.

20–10.

Roosters out.

Sharks roll onto next week where they’ll play the loser of tomorrow’s Canberra v Brisbane match.

Up Up Cronulla!

Dane.
