F1 vs NASCAR ¿Cuál nos da un mayor entretenimiento? | F1 vs NASCAR Which one gives us more entertainment? [ESP-ENG]

Bienvenidos todos a mi blog, en especial los amantes de las carreras, la comunidad #FullDeportes y los lectores en general. Hoy les traigo un post donde voy hacer una comparación de algunas de los aspectos de las categorías deportivas del deporte motor como lo son la Reina que es la F1 y la más vista en los Estados Unidos, NASCAR. Además de que al final me planteo una pregunta, ¿Cuál nos da un mayor entretenimiento?, donde esta planteamiento lo responderé luego de comparar a ambas categorías en los aspectos más importante y en lo a mi conocimiento de cada una de ellas respecta. La F1 es la categoría reina del deporte mundial, es la número 1, es la que más espectadores tiene a nivel mundial y pues por ende es la más vista, mientras que NASCAR es una categoría más vista en los Estados Unidos y en Latinoamericano, más que Europa donde se interesa más por la Formula 1. Como todos saben y he comentado varias veces, me gusta en deporte en general, veo de todo un poco, sin embargo en deporte motor es mi pasión y he visto la mayoría de las categorías del mundo, sin embargo en mis publicaciones les traigo la #NASCAR porque nadie lo hace en la comunidad FullDeportes, además que algunas ocasiones le he hablado de motociclismo y en el futuro espero traerles otros categorías de automovilismo y por qué no, otros deportes más.

In addition, at the end I ask myself a question, which one gives us more entertainment, where I will answer this question after comparing both categories in the most important aspects and in my knowledge of each one of them. F1 is the queen category of the world sport, is the number 1, is the one that has more spectators worldwide and therefore is the most watched, while NASCAR is a category more watched in the United States and Latin America, rather than Europe where it is more interested in Formula 1. As you all know and I have commented several times, I like sports in general, I see a little bit of everything, however in motorsports is my passion and I have seen most of the categories in the world, however in my publications I bring you the #NASCAR because nobody does it in the FullDeportes community, besides that sometimes I have talked about motorcycling and in the future I hope to bring you other categories of motorsport and why not, other sports more.

La F1 es una categoría de autos tipo monoplazas regulado por la FIA (Federación Internacional de Automovilismo), donde los autos tienen una peso bastante más livianos que NASCAR, debido a que este segundo son autos tipos Stock que son autos muchos más grandes y pesado. La F1 es una serie donde se usa mucho tecnología, la aerodinámica juego un papel importante para que así los autos puedan girar y pasar a altas velocidades por las curvas, por ello es que los autos tienen muchos apéndices aerodinámicos; Mientras que NASCAR es una serie que si bien en años atrás y para la temporada 2022 se esperan algunos cambios que desde mi punto de vista le quitan un poco la esencia de la categoría, pero en líneas generales, no usan muchas piezas aerodinámicas como la F1, a simple visto vemos lo que se conocer como Spoiler que se encuentra en la parte trasera del auto y el splitter que se encuentra en la parte delantera baja del auto (un labio). Otra cosa importante mencionar es que si bien NASCAR está bien vista por la FIA, esto no tiene que ver con ese ente, ya que la categoría tiene sus propios comisarios quienes vigilan que todo esté bien o no dentro de las competiciones.

F1 is a series where a lot of technology is used, aerodynamics play an important role so that the cars can turn and go at high speeds through the curves, that is why the cars have many aerodynamic appendages; While NASCAR is a series that although in years ago and for the 2022 season some changes are expected that from my point of view take away a little the essence of the category, but in general terms, do not use many aerodynamic parts as F1, at a glance we see what is known as Spoiler which is located in the rear of the car and the splitter which is located in the lower front of the car (a lip). Another important thing to mention is that although NASCAR is well regarded by the FIA, this has nothing to do with that entity, since the category has its own stewards who monitor that everything is right or wrong within the competitions.

El calendario de la F1 son de 22 carreras y recorren varias partes del mientras, mientras que NASCAR son 36 pero solo corren en los Estados Unidos y a veces visitan Canadá, y en laguna oportunidad corrieron en México en el circuito de los Hermanos Rodríguez. La F1 tiene varias días de descanso entre carrera y NASCAR corren casi todo los fines de semana debido a que como les mencione corren prácticamente todas las competiciones en su territorio en cambio la F1 tiene que recorrer más distancia para trasladarse a los sitios.

The F1 calendar consists of 22 races and they travel through various parts of the world, while NASCAR has 36 races but they only race in the United States and sometimes visit Canada, and on one occasion they raced in Mexico at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. F1 has several days of rest between races and NASCAR races almost every weekend because as I mentioned they race practically all the competitions in their territory, while F1 has to travel longer distances to get to the sites.

En cuanto a las reglas, ambas categoría las tienen bien definidas, sin embargo me parece que a veces la F1 interpreta más las cosas, más que todo en cuanto a una investigación de algún accidente ocurrido o que si algún piloto violo el reglamento en las carreras. Si bien las carreras son distintas porque la F1 las carreras son más cortas y el formato es diferente al de NASCAR, que la longitud de las competiciones son mayores y las carreras se dan por etapas. En cuanto al sistema de banderas la F1 hay banderas amarillas locales y en ocasiones sale el auto de seguridad, mientras que NASCAR cuando se corre en óvalos que es la mayor parte del calendario y ocurre un accidente, sale el auto de precaución donde los autos deben bajar la velocidad y mantener sus posiciones, esto debido a que F1 se corre en circuitos y NASCAR en óvalos lo que hace que este segundo sea más peligroso ya que los autos mayormente van en grupo y pueden haber múltiples incidentes que puede poner en riesgo la seguridad de los pilotos.

As for the rules, both categories have them well defined, however it seems to me that sometimes F1 interprets things more, especially in terms of an investigation of an accident that occurred or if a driver violated the rules in the races. Although the races are different because F1 races are shorter and the format is different from NASCAR, where the length of the competitions are longer and the races are given in stages. As for the flag system, F1 has local yellow flags and sometimes the safety car comes out, while NASCAR when racing on ovals, which is most of the calendar, and an accident occurs, the caution car comes out and the cars must slow down and keep their positions. This is because F1 races on circuits and NASCAR races on ovals, which makes the latter more dangerous since the cars mostly go in groups and there may be multiple incidents that may jeopardize the safety of the drivers.

NASCAR es una serie que permite el contacto entre autos, mientras que la Formula 1 sanciona esto, pero hay que entender que como en la categoría reina los autos son monoplazas, más livianos y frágiles, por lo cual los pilotos corren un poco de más peligros, además de que alcanzas más velocidades, mientras que NASCAR si ven van muy veloces, pues no como la ya antes mencionadas categoría, además que los autos soporte más los impacto. En la F1 se ve muy poco peleas entre pilotos, por lo menos en la actualidad, pero NASCAR si se ha caracteriza porque siempre sus pilotos se pelean cuando ocurren algo en la pista, pero claro que estos son sancionadas, pero en la categoría de autos tipo Stock les dan un poco más de libertad, esto porque le da un mayor espectáculo a la serie.

NASCAR is a series that allows contact between cars, while Formula 1 penalizes this, but we must understand that as in the premier category the cars are single-seaters, lighter and more fragile, so the drivers run a little more danger, plus you reach higher speeds, while NASCAR if they see go very fast, not like the aforementioned category, plus the cars support more impact. In F1 there are very few fights between drivers, at least at present, but NASCAR has been characterized because its drivers always fight when something happens on the track, but of course these are sanctioned, but in the Stock car category they give them a little more freedom, this because it gives a greater spectacle to the series.

Muchas personas piensan que corren en ovalo es fácil (en el caso de los pilotos de NASCAR), pero esto no es así y muchos pilotos de la F1 se han ido a este categoría, el más reciente siendo Juan Pablo Montoya, un piloto colombiano muy talentoso, que tuvo mucho éxito en la F1, logrando varias victorias, que no solo ha participado en esa categoría, sino que en la Indycar donde también ganó (2 oportunidades las 500 de Indianapolis) y fue campeón, pero dicho piloto cuando se fue a NASCAR, nunca pudo ganar en ovalo, si estuvo cerca en varias oportunidades pero no lo logro, sus únicos ganes fueron en circuitos en 3 ocasiones, para que veamos lo difícil que es transitar en un óvalo, los autos pueden cambiar su comportamiento de un momento a otro, lo que lo hace bastante impredecible durante las carreras. En la F1 el carro suele perder rendimiento pero más por los desgaste de los neumáticos que por otra cosa.

En la Formula 1 los pilotos tienen la oportunidad de modificar el auto mediante algunas funciones que tienen en el volante, algo que me parece que es complicado y más las velocidad que alcanza, en cambio NASCAR es no es así, tiene muy pocas cosas que deben hacer, la mayoría es el botón de la radio, para encender y apagar el auto, además de otras funciones pero muy poco las usan, donde hace muchos años en NASCAR hasta el tablero era analógico, pero años atrás lo cambiaron a digital pero con muy poca información comparado con NASCAR, ya que en esta muestran son las revoluciones por minuto del motor (RPM), no poseen un limitar para entrar a los boxes, solo que los equipos le dicen las RPM que deben ir en la calle de los pits. Otra cosa es que la F1 tiene más sensores en los autos que NASCAR, que da una mayor información a los equipos cuando algo anda mal, además que hasta el nivel de combustible en NASCAR es calculado por los equipos y no saben exactamente cuánto es lo que queda.

En cuanto al sistema de campeonato, la F1 es más sencilla y tradicional, el piloto campeón y aquel quien acumula la mayor cantidad de puntos a lo largo de la temporada, donde puntúan los 10 primeros de cada carreras. En cambio en NASCAR, puntúan todos los pilotos que estén en carrera, además que está dividida en tres etapas y cada una de ellas también otorgan puntos. Otra cosa que en NASCAR hay una temporada regular y los playoffs a los cuales clasifican los pilotos que hayan ganado al menos una carrera o aquellos que se encuentren entre los 16 primeros de la tabla de puntos; es decir, que a los playoffs son 16 los que pasan. Los playoffs están divididas en etapas de eliminación, donde en la primera ronda quedan eliminados 4, y los demás avanzan a la ronda de 12, y así van eliminando a 4 hasta llegar a la ronda final de 4 pilotos que disputan el título en la última carrera y corona el piloto que termine más adelante de los otros tres, sin tomar en cuenta los puntos de bonificación. Las rondas de los Playoffs son a 3 carreras y la final a 1 como ya les mencione.

Another thing is that in NASCAR there is a regular season and the playoffs to which qualify the drivers who have won at least one race or those who are among the top 16 in the points table; that is to say, there are 16 drivers who go to the playoffs. The playoffs are divided into elimination stages, where in the first round 4 are eliminated, and the others advance to the round of 12, and so on eliminating 4 until reaching the final round of 4 drivers who compete for the title in the last race and the driver who finishes ahead of the other three, without taking into account the bonus points, is crowned. The Playoffs rounds are 3 races and the final is 1 race as I mentioned before.

En conclusión, ambas categoría son distintas unas de las otras pero me pareció interesante compararlas y decir que es la que da un mayor entretenimiento, pero claro que esta es una opinión personal de cada persona y sus gusto. La F1 es la categoría reina, la más vista, con mayor fanaticada en el mundo en cuanto a automovilismo se refiere, pero sin embargo me parece que NASCAR es más entretenida, tiene mejores carreras, muchas adelantamientos, competiciones más parejas, tenemos más ganadores a lo largo de la temporada, pilotos peleando en grupos grandes y no que una le saca mucha distancia a los otros, el sistema de campeonato es más interesante que la F1 que es más tradicionalista y que además tiene unas zonas grises en el reglamento de lo que es los autos, lo que hace que los equipos jueguen con esto y saquen más ventajas a los demás.

In conclusion, both categories are different from each other but I found it interesting to compare them and say that it is the one that gives more entertainment, but of course this is a personal opinion of each person and their taste. F1 is the queen category, the most watched, with more fans in the world in terms of motorsport, but nevertheless I think NASCAR is more entertaining, has better races, many overtaking, more even competitions, we have more winners throughout the season, The championship system is more interesting than F1, which is more traditionalist and also has some gray areas in the rules of the cars, which makes the teams play with this and take more advantages over the others.
