Teófimo López es por hoy uno de los mayores exponentes de la división de peso ligero, el estadounidense de ascendencia hondureña se corono campeón a muy temprana edad y escalo rápidamente los rankings libra por libra, este lunes López hará la primera defensa simultanea de los tres cinturones que ostenta en un duelo a 12 asaltos contra el australiano George Campos Junior. 5.López vs Menard

En 2018 y todavía con la etiqueta de prospecto, López se enfrento al experimentado Mason Menard en un encuentro a 10 asaltos, en tan solo 40 segundos Teófimo logro poner punto final a la pelea y de paso mando un mensaje a los mejores peleadores de las 135 libras.

4.López vs Magdaleno

Esto ocurrió inmediatamente después del nocaut contra Menard, Teófimo López se enfrento al veterano Diego Magdaleno en una sin titulo de por medio López lo sobrepaso en todos sus ámbitos, ataque, defensa y contragolpe, Teófimo disfruto cada segundo del combate y en ningún momento se lo vio en apuros. Para este duelo nos remontaremos nuevamente a 2018, Teófimo enfrento al brasileño William Silva rival que esperaba ponerlo a prueba dado que en su récord figuraban 25 victorias y una sola derrota dentro del ring el púgil sudamericano no tuvo chance, López termino ganando por nocaut en el 6 asalto.

2.López vs Commey

Aquí entramos directamente en palabras mayores, a fines del 2019 López desafío al campeón mundial FIB de peso ligero Richard Commey, el africano llego a la contienda con 29 victorias y 2 derrotas muy cuestionables en el patio de la casa de sus oponentes, con mas del 80% de sus peleas ganadas por nocaut el africano representaba una serie amenaza para Teófimo.

1.López vs Lomachenko

Lógicamente esta pelea tenia que estar en el primer lugar, en el único combate que disputo en 2020, Teófimo López se midió con el entonces mejor boxeador libra por libra Vasyl Lomachenko, el ucraniano era favorito en las apuestas y los pronósticos lógicos para el duelo eran López por nocaut o Lomachenko por puntos, casi nadie vio venir una decisión para Teófimo quien aparentemente se metió en la cabeza del ucraniano el cual no soltó las manos durante la primera mitad de la pelea, desde el sexto asalto en adelante las acciones se emparejaron brindando algunos momentos que vale la pena que destaquen.

Lo amen o lo odien, el talento de López no se puede negar, esperemos, que de salir victorioso contra Kambosos tenga una super pelea contra cualquier boxeador dentro de los mejores cinco de la división, mientras tanto los fanáticos tendrán que conformarse con la constante espera de una pelea que vuelva a llevar este deporte a lo mas alto.
