During my visit to Puerto Cabello, a city in my country, Venezuela, I had the opportunity to visit a very picturesque place and really surrounded by art, the Polideportivo Recreacional "Diego Armando Maradona". We visited this sports complex on our way back from the beach, almost at sunset that day.

Visit to the beach

I remember that while we were returning it started to rain and since the van has an open back cab, we were going to get wet if we continued on the road. So we stopped on the way and took shelter in the sports complex. The rain lasted only a short time, but long enough for us to have a snack in the park, a few loaves of bread stuffed with sausages.

Once the rain stopped, I borrowed the phone from one of the ladies who invited me on the trip and we started taking pictures of the place. As you can read in the links I left above, during this vacation my phone got wet on the beach, that's why I didn't take the pictures with my own phone, but that's ancient history....

The point is that we came across a very nice place. Even though everything was wet and lonely, we were able to take pictures of the beautiful art on the walls of the complex. Both inside and outside the court there were different types of art alluding to the sport and to my country. There were faces of different Venezuelan athletes such as Salomón Rondón or Tomás Rincón. Unfortunately, the court was closed so I couldn't take pictures inside; however, the art around was pretty cool.

There were also sculptures and drawings of Maradona, the famous Argentine soccer player, but I couldn't take too many pictures of him because the rain started again. As soon as it stopped, it was time to get back in the van to continue on our way. It was a great visit to this beautiful sports complex, to close with a flourish a simply great vacation...

Durante mi visita a Puerto Cabello, una ciudad de mi país, Venezuela, tuve la oportunidad de visitar un lugar muy pintorosco y realmente rodeado de arte, el Polideportivo Recreacional "Diego Armando Maradona". La visita a este complejo deportivo la hicimos durante el regreso de la playa, ya casi al atardecer de ese día.

Recuerdo que mientras regresábamos comenzó a llover y como la camioneta tiene la cabina trasera descubierta, nos ibamos a mojar si seguíamos en ruta. Así que paramos en el camino y nos resguardamos en el complejo deportivo. La lluvia duró poco, pero lo suficiente como para que tomáramos una merienda en el parque, unos cuantos panes rellenos con salchichas.

Una vez que la lluvia cesó, le pedí prestado el teléfono a una de las señoritas que me invitó al viaje y comenzamos a tomar fotos del lugar. Como pueden leer en los enlaces que dejé más arriba, durante estas vacaciones mi teléfono se mojó en la playa, por eso no tomé las fotos con mi propio teléfono, pero eso ya es historia antigua...

El punto es que nos encontramos con un lugar muy agradable. Aunque todo estaba mojado y solo, pudimos tomar fotos del bellísimo arte que hay en las paredes del complejo. Tanto dentro como fuera de la cancha había distintos tipos de artes alusivos al deporte y a mi país. Habían rostros de distintos deportistas de Venezuela como Salomón Rondón o Tomás Rincón. Lamentablemente, la cancha estaba cerrada así que no pude tomar fotos en el interior; sin embargo, el arte que había en los alrededores era bastante genial.

También había esculturas y dibujos de Maradona, el famoso futbolista argentino, pero de este no pude tomar demasiadas fotografías porque la lluvia comenzó otra vez. Apenas cesó, tocó volver a la camioneta para continuar con el camino. Fue una visita genial a este bellísimo complejo deportivo, para cerrar con broche de oro unas vacaciones simplemente geniales...
