No podía haber amanecido mejor el día sábado 25 de septiembre con una mañana radiante luego de una tímida lluvia que en la madrugada del día anterior regaba a toda la ciudad para brindarle un amanecer fresco y en pocas palabras un día prometedor, en especial para todos aquellos niños, jóvenes, adolescentes y adultos que disputarían en un mismo escenario las diferentes finales por el campeonato de fútbol local de la ciudad de Villa de Cura ( Venezuela ).

Emocionado con mi rol ahora de periodista deportivo amateur decidí junto a mi esposa e hijas asistir a dicho evento deportivo entre otras cosas por que el equipo local de nuestra comunidad 5"Deportivo Los Colorados" Disputaría 3 finales en sus diferentes categorías las sub-9 y la sub -15 que resultaron campeonas y la sub 11 que se conformó con el subcampeonato.

It could not have dawned better on Saturday September 25 with a radiant morning after a timid rain that in the early hours of the previous day watered the whole city to provide a cool dawn and in short a promising day, especially for all those children, youth, adolescents and adults who would dispute on the same stage the different finals for the local soccer championship of the city of Villa de Cura (Venezuela).

Excited with my role now as an amateur sports journalist I decided with my wife and daughters to attend this sporting event among other things because the local team of our community 5 "Deportivo Los Colorados" would dispute 3 finals in their different categories U-9 and U-15 that were champions and U-11 that settled for the runner-up.

Los encuentros se disputaron como mencione en publicaciones anteriores en las instalaciones del campo deportivo del liceo Alberto Smith del sector "La Represa" un populoso barrio del centro de la ciudad desde las nueve de la mañana hasta bien entrada las horas de la tarde cuando sucedió un terrible acontecimiento que impidió la continuidad del evento suspendiendo a los equipos que faltaban para una nueva fecha.

Resulta que a eso de las dos de la tarde se disputaba un encuentro por la tercera división del fútbol nacional entre un equipo proveniente de Camaguán ( Guárico ) y el equipo local ( Villa de Cura ) cuando ya transcurrido varios minutos de iniciar el partido cayó desplomado en el terreno uno de los jugadores del equipo visitante mostrando en el momento graves problemas de salud.

The matches were played as I mentioned in previous publications in the facilities of the sports field of the Alberto Smith high school in the "La Represa" sector, a populous neighborhood in the center of the city, from nine in the morning until well into the afternoon when a terrible event occurred that prevented the continuity of the event, suspending the teams that were missing for a new date.

It turns out that at about two o'clock in the afternoon a match was being played for the third division of national soccer between a team from Camaguán (Guárico) and the local team (Villa de Cura) when several minutes after the start of the match one of the players of the visiting team collapsed on the field showing serious health problems.

Sorprendentemente no había en el campo ningún organismo ni equipo médico para atender una emergencia como la que se estaba suscitando en el momento, el joven fue trasladado en un vehículo de uno de los asistentes de emergencia al hospital de la ciudad donde falleció a los pocos minutos de haber ingresado al mismo.

Se especula que falleció por hiperglicemia ya que el equipo había llegado a muy tempranas horas al encuentro y el jugador no había comido; otros dicen que falleció por una trombosis en el propio campo de juego el cual no se le dio la asistencia profesional inmediata para evitar el terrible suceso.

Surprisingly, there was no medical team on the field to attend to an emergency such as the one that was occurring at the time, the young man was transported in a vehicle belonging to one of the emergency assistants to the city hospital where he died a few minutes after being admitted to the hospital.

It is speculated that he died from hyperglycemia since the team had arrived very early for the game and the player had not eaten; others say that he died from a thrombosis on the playing field itself and that he was not given immediate professional assistance to avoid the terrible event.
