My Actifit Report Card: April 6 2024

Hello Hive, hello Actifit! Yesterday's goal was to finish the floor of our green tiny house.

To do this, we started by lowering the OSB boards we bought two weeks ago onto our plot of land.

Each one weighs about 30kg (2m50 long by 1m50 wide). So it took two of us to carry them. Especially as the way down to our plot is a dirt track, and our converted van can't get through.

Once we'd done that, we could already see what it was going to be like.

Then, @altheana (yes, now she's on Hive), started taking measurements to make the right cuts.

Measures and more measures! But I like this photo because you can see our pond behind it.

A precious water resource.

To ensure that the OSB sheets fit perfectly, we've created a wooden guide.

In this way, we can easily follow the deformities of the walls (the waves), but also the beams. This makes it easy to transfer our measurements.

We insert a pencil into the hole, then place the point of the triangle on the wall and slide the piece of wood along the wall to transfer the wall's deformities to the plates.

Then we cut the OSB sheets with a jigsaw, and presto, it fits perfectly on the wall!

When we bought our OSB sheets, we didn't think about the offcuts we'd have.

So, in the last photo, you can see that the floor is missing from the bottom.

So we weren't able to finish the floor. That said, we ordered on the Internet and went to the nearest DIY store to pick up the last slab.

When it's available, we'll just have to do this bit. Then we can get on with laying our laminate floor!

In any case, we need to take a break from our work as we have a lot of work to do on the professional side again.

This will give us more budget for our renovation and also for the summer vacation we're planning with friends.
