My Actifit Report Card: May 8 2025

Hello Hive, hello to the sporty ones and the less sporty ones.

Yesterday was almost a public holiday in France. I say “almost” because it’s not necessarily a day off. As entrepreneurs, it’s a day when we shouldn’t stop working to avoid losing revenue. Ours isn’t very high, so a day off doesn’t do us any good for what’s coming next.

But @altheana’s parents are with us at the moment, so we took the opportunity to spend some peaceful time together… and show them around the area.

We live in a very small village, right next to a very peaceful little town. A countryside spot, just the way we like it. If you go to my profile, you’ll easily find the post in which I talk about this town.

There’s not much to see, except nature. But that’s exactly what we’re looking for with @altheana.

In front of the town hall, a small vegetable garden has been set up. I don’t know if we’ll be able to pick a few vegetables or herbs later. Maybe… by going there in moderation.

That being said, it’s beautiful!

Every Thursday morning, a small market sets up in the main square. I didn’t take any pictures this time, because I had already shared it in other posts.

Instead, I let myself be carried away by the village’s architecture. These are old buildings, with the charm of the old.

A bit further down, there’s a beautiful arboretum, with tree species from all over the world.

And of course, several varieties of apple trees. After all, we’re in Normandy… and a garden without an apple tree wouldn’t really be a garden here.

Every year, a big festival is held here. The festival of apples, cider and cheese. We’ll try to go this year.

There’s also a free museum. Even though it’s the second time we’ve come, we still arrived too late to visit it.

Too bad, it will be for another time.

The arboretum is quite large: it takes about an hour to walk around it. Even more if you take the time to observe the trees, read the signs, smell the plants.

From afar, we thought it was a field of flax… A beautiful purple patch in the big garden.

But when we got closer, we didn’t recognize the plant. So I used a botanical recognition app on my phone called "PlantNet", and it was… phacelia!

A plant that bees love.

I think @altheana’s parents enjoyed this little walk.

And for us, it was a real moment of reconnection. Even if we lost money today, we gained memories. And that’s much more valuable than any source of money.

Bonjour Hive, bonjour les sportifs et les moins sportifs.

Hier, c’était presque un jour férié en France. Je dis presque car il n'est pas obligatoirement chômé. En tant qu'entrepreneur, c'est une journée où ne devrions travailler pour éviter de perdre du chiffre d'affaire. Le nôtre n'est pas très élevé donc une journée de chômée ne nous fait pas du bien pour la suite.

Mais les parents d’@altheana sont avec nous en ce moment, alors on en a profité pour passer un moment tranquille ensemble… et leur faire découvrir les environs.

Nous vivons dans un tout petit village, juste à côté d’une bourgade très paisible. Un coin de campagne comme on les aime. Si vous allez sur mon profil, vous trouverez facilement l'article dans lequel je parle de cette ville.

Il n’y a pas grand-chose à voir, si ce n’est la nature. Mais c’est justement ce que nous recherchons avec @altheana.

Devant la mairie, un petit potager a été aménagé. Je ne sais pas si on pourra y cueillir quelques légumes ou herbes plus tard. Peut-être… en y allant avec modération.

Cela dit, il est magnifique !

Tous les jeudis matins, un petit marché s’installe sur la place principale. Je n’ai pas pris de photos cette fois, car je l’avais déjà partagé dans d’autres publications.

À la place, je me suis laissé porter par l’architecture du village. Ce sont des bâtiments anciens, avec le charme de l'ancien.

Un peu plus bas, on trouve un arboretum magnifique, avec des essences d’arbres venues du monde entier.

Et bien sûr, plusieurs variétés de pommiers. Après tout, on est en Normandie… et un jardin sans pommier, ce ne serait pas vraiment un jardin ici.

Tous les ans se dresse ici une grande fête. La fête de la pomme, du cidre et du fromage. Nous tenterons d'y aller cette année.

Il y a aussi un musée gratuit. Même si c’est la deuxième fois que nous venons, nous sommes encore arrivés trop tard pour le visiter.

Tant pis, ce sera pour une prochaine fois.

L’arboretum est assez vaste : il faut environ une heure pour en faire le tour à pied. Voire plus si on prend le temps d’observer les arbres, lire les panneaux, sentir les plantes.

De loin, on pensait qu’il s’agissait d’un champ de lin… Une belle tâche violette dans le grand jardin.

Mais en s’approchant, on ne reconnaissait pas la plante. J’ai donc utilisé une appli de reconnaissance botanique sur mon téléphone "PlantNet", et c’était… de la phacélie !

Une plante que les abeilles adorent.

Je pense que les parents d’@altheana ont apprécié cette petite balade.

Et de notre côté, c’était un vrai moment de reconnexion. Même si nous avons perdu de l'argent aujourd'hui, nous avons gagné des souvenirs. Et c'est bien plus précieux que n'importe quelle source d'argent.
