My FPL report: Game week 3
The 3rd game of the English Premier League for this season threw up some interesting results with some FPL managers licking their wounds while some can look back and say they've done quite well for the week. I personally managed to get a few points above the average point for the week.
To start with, two of my first eleven were not selected by their respective coaches for the game week and at the end of the day, only one automatic substitution was carried out. Lewis of Newcastle and Jorghino of Chelsea are the two players that could have boosted my point for the week, but it was what it was. The automatically substituted player dropped a massive one point performance, little wonder he was put on the bench initially. Justin also dropped a below par performance for the week with a point of just 1, an unusual performance from the player.
Another factor that decreased my point for the week was the performance of Tottenham's son, I player I chose to be my captain for the week. He had a red card late into the game and was only awarded a point for his performance. Such a waste of captainship. KDB that I could have captained in his place dropped a slightly better 2 points while Mohammed Sallah managed a 5 points for the week.
The most surprising result for the week was that if Manchester City versus Leicester City in which the former got walloped by 5 goals to 2 with Jamie Vardy dropping a 17 point, bonus inclusive performance. I really do not think that most active FPL managers would have saw that coming and captained Vardy for the game week. Patrick Bamford continued his impressive form by scoring a late goal in the game while Wilson also dropped a decent 8 points performance.
This game week 3 was mostly for forward players while only defenders like Trent Alexander Arnold and Robertson had a great game with decent points. Hopefully, game week 4 will fair better. Overall, my game week point of 50 actually sees me going up in my respective leagues. With Son and Dann all out for the next game week, I think I will be better off using my free hit for the season. The free hit would allow me to make temporary unlimited amount of substitution for the game week while returning back to the original team after the week.
