My FPL report: Game week 4

The English Premier League continued over the weekend with some interesting, but rather surprising results. Chelsea had a dominant and comfortable 4:0 win over Crystal Palace, Arsenal managed to snatch a 2:1 win over Sheffield, while Everton continued their fine run of form by taking another win. Meanwhile, somewhere else, Manchester United took a massive beating Tottenham in a game that ended 6 goals to 1 while the defending championship, Liverpool took the biggest loss of the weekend by getting beaten 7:2 by lowly rated Aston Villa. It was a weekend punters would never want to witness again.

In all these, it was a week of mixed results for FPL managers with someone amassing as high as 160 points while some managed just a two figure points. I personally managed to garner 45 points while the average point for the week stands at 48. My back line of Justin, Lamptey, and Lewis (was automatically substituted due to the absence of Holdings) performed poorly for the game week with Lamptey giving a 0 point performance, while Lewis and Justin only managed 1 point a piece. Vincent Guaita, the crystal Palace goalkeeper also had a 0 point performance after conceding 4 goals in the hands of Chelsea.

Coming to the midfield, my captain for the week in the person of Kevin De Bruyne managed a 2 points performance when Manchester City were only able to snatch a draw with Leeds. Patrick Bamford only managed to get a single point in the match. Jorghino had a huge game scoring 2 penalty goals and racking a massive 15 points for the game week. Sallah, despite the big loss to Aston villa still managed to score the two goals recorded by his team and rack up a 13 point performance. While Son had a huge game with 18 points performance, I chose to start Newcastle's Hnedrick because it seems Son was not going to play for the game week after getting a red card in the previous match. While Hendrick only managed a 2 points performance, Son went ahead to start the game and dropped a massive 18 points performance. I was left scratching my head at the end of the day.

Jamie Vardy had a 2 points performance at the striking position while Dominic Calvert Lewin continued his fine form, scoring another goal over the weekend and dropping a 6 points performance. With Harry Lane showing a bit of consistency than Jamie Vardy, I have decided to tranfer out the later and bring in the former in preparation for the next game which will be taking place after thr International break.

Overall, my position in the various leagues that I belong to has dropped significantly due to the low aggregate point for the game week. However, I managed to beat my opponent in the head to head league and my position has gone up a bit to the third place. Hopefully, the next game week will bring a better result. Of course, I could have done well starting Son and captaining one of Jorghino, Sallah, or Son - if started.
