Uncertain WC future; Round 3 decides it all.

Things are heating up in Qatar at the moment, and this isn't about the country's temperature.

The Worldcup is actually giving football fans thrills across the globe and a lot of punters/football analysts must have taken back their claims about many countries before the competition kicked off.

The second round of the group stage matches has been concluded and surprisingly, a lot of the big countries we thought would have a great and easy pass to the knockout stage now have their fate tied to the result of their final group stage match.

It is hard to tell about the future of some great footballing nation at the ongoing world cup and their fans will definitely be disappointed if they don't make it out of the group stage.

It all started with Argentina losing to Saudi Arabia and I could tell that things wouldn't go as planned for some big nations at the world cup.

As it stands, France, Portugal and Brazil are the only countries that have secured a ticket to the next round of the competition. The three countries have won their first two matches in the group stage and with six points, they can boast as a challenger for the World Cup.

In Group A

The Netherlands were the favorite to top the group with either Senegal or Ecuador finishing second. After defeating Senegal in their first match, we all expected them to win all other group stage matches.

Unfortunately for them, Ecuador prevented them from securing the knockout round in their second match as they played a draw with the South American nation. Qatar wouldn't stop them from progressing to the next round but it wouldn't be the flawless victory we all thought would happen.

Ecuador and Senegal would have to battle for second place. The worse scenario is seeing both nations play a draw and Netherlands losing to Qatar. Please wake me up, that's not happening.

In Group B

I wasn't expecting much from England in the competition but they started on a strong foot by defeating Iran with a huge goal difference.

The victory gave England an edge over the other countries in the group but they didn't capitalize on their form against USA, they played a draw but still sit at the top of the group.

Wales or USA was expected to progress with England if they win or draw against Wales but the two countries haven't had a great time at Qatar so far. Wales unbelievably lost to Iran and USA has played a draw in two matches.

Iran or USA can make it out of the group if either of them wins and for Wales, it will be a miracle if they go on to defeat England. I foresee a huge drama in that group even with one match to go. Both England and Iran need just one point to progress to the next round of the competition.

In Group C

Argentina is unbelievably sitting in the second position with three points, they are expected to win all their group stage matches but things didn't go as planned for them.

Poland sits ahead of them and the two countries will face off to know who progresses as the group leader.

The match is a must win for Argentina if they want to secure a ticket to the next round of the competition, a draw will put them at huge risk if Mexico go on to beat Saudi Arabia with a huge goal difference or vice versa.

All Poland needs is a point against Argentina and they are in the next round of the competition. Things could go sour for them if they lose as well.

In Group D

France made it through to the next round of the competition after their second match, they defeated Denmark and Australia which tells how much prepared they are for the World Cup.

Denmark defeated France twice in the Euro nations league but it is different in the World Cup. The Danish side has performed below expectations and they will crash out of the competition if they fail to win Australia which seems quite impossible.

Tunisia and Denmark's journey seems to have reached the end at the World Cup but Miracle happens. Denmark has hopes if they defeat Australia with a good goal difference but I don't see that happening.

In Group E

This group turned out to be the funny ones with the results we have seen from there so far.

Germany lost to Japan and the Asia side went on to lose to Costa Rica. Japan could have secured their ticket to the next round if they had won against Costa Rica but they failed to do that.

Spain has the edge in the group and they only need a draw to get out of the group, they have scored the highest goal in a single match and that is a good thing for them.

Germany is sitting at the bottom of the table and they need to mercilessly trash Costa Rica if they will make it from the group which also depends on the outcome of the Spain and Japan match.

In Group F

Belgium were stunned by the determined Morrocans and that have put them in a very tight spot on the table.

Croatia and Morroco sit above Belgium which put the Belgians under pressure to win their last match against Croatia. I do not see Belgium winning because Croatia needs the match as well.

Belgium will be out of the World Cup if Croatia and Morroco get a point each from their last match. I don't see Croatia backing out easily and Morroco will fight to the end just to grab a ticket to the next round of the World Cup.

In Group G

Brazil booked a ticket for the next round after winning Switzerland by a lone goal.

Switzerland looks like they will progress as well because they have shown great determination in the competition. They only need a draw against Serbia to join Brazil in the round of 16. If Serbia or Cameroon can go on to get a victory, the tables may turn.

In Group H

Uruguay and South Korea were expected to keep a close touch with Portugal but it looks like their journey at the World Cup is coming to an end. The Portuguese national team made it to the next round even though they have one match to go, they are followed by Ghana, the Africa side that went on to thrash South Korea.

Ghana is the favorite to join Portugal and a point is all they need to get the job done. They will face Uruguay in their last match and will definitely not let the ticket to the next round pass them by.

Uruguay and South Korea might turn things around if they go on to win their last matches, the second spot seems very open to any team ready to grab it.

The third round kicks off tomorrow and I am eager to see how things unfold for the remaining countries expected to qualify for the round of 16.
