Les comienzo contando que este fin de semana fue maravilloso, mi hijo Khael tuvo su primer juego amistoso de béisbol.

Yo creo que nunca en mi vida Me imaginé emocionandome tanto por ver un partido de béisbol es más a la verdad hasta hace menos de dos meses que fue que mi hijo comenzó las prácticas no me interesaban lo más mínimo este deporte porque nunca le he prestado la atención necesaria para entenderlo y menos me sentía comprometida ni siquiera de verlo .

I start by telling you that this weekend was wonderful, my son Khael had his first friendly baseball game.

I don't think I ever in my life imagined myself getting so excited to watch a baseball game. In fact, until less than two months ago when my son started practice, I was not the least bit interested in this sport because I have never paid enough attention to it to understand it, let alone feel committed to even watch it.

Pero este fin de semana todo fue diferente , ahora soy una mamá orgullosa de ver a su hijo ponerse su uniforme, ir a las prácticas y esforzarse por hacerlo bien para que su equipo le vaya bien.

Desde la semana los niños habían estado practicando muchísimo ya que sabían que tenía ese juego amistoso, Es increíble cómo vas viendo la transformación de esos niños juguetones al principio y cómo van cambiando y prestando atención y convirtiéndose en unos atletas a pesar del poco tiempo que tiene reconozco la importancia de las prácticas.

But this weekend everything was different, I am now a *proud* mom to see her son put on his uniform, go to practice and strive to do well so that his team can do well.

Since the week the kids had been practicing a lot since they knew I had that friendly game, It's amazing how you see the transformation of those playful kids at the beginning and how they are changing and paying attention and becoming athletes despite the short time they have I recognize the importance of the practices.

Practicaron muchísimo durante la semana , y el día jueves llegaron los anhelados uniforme ya que hasta ahora habían estado practicando solamente con una sudadera.

El juego fue el día sábado y nos tuvimos que parar muy temprano eso para nosotros fue un desafío por todo lo que implicaba, levantar a mi hijo temprano , bañarlo, vestirlo, darle de comer y estar listo para llegar una hora antes del juego.

They practiced a lot during the week, and on Thursday the longed-for uniforms arrived, since until now they had only been practicing with a sweatshirt.

The game was on Saturday and we had to get up very early, which was a challenge for us because of all that it implied, getting my son up early, bathing him, dressing him, feeding him and being ready to arrive an hour before the game.

Hicimos todo lo posible por alistarnos rápidamente y estar temprano. Cuando llegamos nos dimos cuenta que casi la mayoría de los niños y estaban ahí y apenas mi hijo se dio cuenta me dijo que se iban a practicar antes de empezar el juego.

Esto realmente a mí me sorprendió porque recordé la escena de aquel niño llorando por primera vez en el estadio para integrarse a las prácticas, eso fue un cambio drástico.

We did our best to get ready quickly and be there early. When we arrived we noticed that most of the kids were there and as soon as my son noticed he told me that they were going to practice before the game started.

This really surprised me because I remembered the scene of that little boy crying for the first time at the stadium to join practice, that was a drastic change.

Cuando comenzo el juego ...

Luego de las prácticas, los niños se quitaron sus gorras y en fila cantaron el himno nacional de Venezuela , con la mano en el pecho. Esto me parecio hermoso.

En un ritual del saludo se saludaron uno a uno y pasaron a tomar sus posiciones .

After practice, the kids took off their caps and lined up to sing the Venezuelan national anthem, with their hands on their chests. I thought this was beautiful.

In a ritual salute they greeted each other one by one and took their positions.

Ellos jugaron contra un equipo que se llama Marinero y nosotros los azulejos éramos el equipo visitante Así que nos tocó comenzar a batear, en el primer inning hicimos tres carreras , realmente me sorprendió mucho la habilidad de algunos niños para batear y correr .

En el siguiente turno le tocaba a marinero batear y A mi parecer la mayoría de sus niños tiene 5 años porque son grandes y la mayoría de los niños de azulejos tiene cuatro.

They played against a team called Marinero and we the Azulejos were the visiting team, so it was our turn to start batting, in the first inning we made three runs, I was really surprised by the ability of some of the kids to bat and run.

In the next inning it was Marinero's turn to bat and I think most of their kids are 5 years old because they are big and most of the Azulejos kids are 4 years old.

Esto de la diferencia de edad pudiera parecer irrelevante, pero si afecta mucho , porque el desarrollo fisico , la dureza de los musculos , la forma de correr , de pararse , varia mucho de una edad a otra en los niños .

This age difference may seem irrelevant, but it does affect a lot, because the physical development, the hardness of the muscles, the way of running, standing, varies greatly from one age to another in children.

En ese turno al bate los marineros , nos hicieron como 5 carreras , ya en el próximo que venía le tocaba a mi hijo batear y realmente pude sentir los nervios y la emoción de verlo prepararse, pararse, cuándo bateo le dio duro y arrancó a correr pero resulta que era faul, y yo en ese momento grité a más no poder pensando que estaba bien, y luego nuevamente cuando le toco batear lo poncharon.

In that turn at bat the sailors gave us about 5 runs, and in the next at bat it was my son's turn to bat and I could really feel the nerves and the excitement of seeing him get ready to stand up when he batted and he hit hard and started to run but it turned out to be a foul ball, and at that moment I screamed my head off thinking he was fine, and then again when it was his turn to bat he struck out.

Pero aún así yo grité de tanta emoción como si hubiera hecho un jonrón.

But I still screamed with excitement as if I had almost hit a home run.

Ese día la pasamos maravilloso, fue de mucha alegría para todos los padres que nos encontrábamos en ese lugar de reunidos, cantamos muchísimas consignas para el equipo y compartimos que creo que es lo mas importante.

Cuando el juego terminó en 13 a 6 pero luego hice un análisis con el profesor y el comentó que el otro equipo ya había ido hasta un campeonato y que para ser la primera vez de nosotros y con los niños tan pequeños, aún así lo hicimos muy bien y creo que todos los padres pudieron sentir como se les llenaba el corazón de orgullo.

That day we had a wonderful time, it was a great joy for all the parents who were in that meeting place, we sang many slogans for the team and we shared, which I think is the most important thing.

When the game ended in 13 to 6 but then I made an analysis with the teacher and he commented that the other team had already gone to a championship and that for being the first time for us and with children so young we still did very well and I think all parents could feel how it filled their hearts with pride.
