[Spa-Eng] Cambio de actitud hacia el deporte

El día de ayer tuvimos la oportunidad de llevar a mi hijo, por segunda vez a sus prácticas de béisbol.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to take my son, for the second time to his baseball practice.

El primer día que fue, lo acompaño su papá y no sé si es por la emoción que su papá le transmitió que éi lo sintio en forma de presión , entonces tomo una actitud un poco renuente sobre el béisbol tanto así que me decía que esto lo hacia sentir triste .

Nuestra idea de que practique algún deporte, en este caso el béisbol no es presionarlo ni obligarlo a que lo haga , entiendo claramente el concepto de pasión por lo que haces ya que esto es lo que te va a generar el compromiso que asumes al iniciar cualquier actividad.

The first day he went, his dad accompanied him and I don't know if it was because of the emotion that his dad transmitted to him that he felt it as pressure, so he took a little reluctant attitude about baseball, so much so that he told me that this made him feel sad.

Our idea for him to practice a sport, in this case baseball, is not to pressure him or force him to do it, I clearly understand the concept of passion for what you do since this is what will generate the commitment that you assume when you start any activity.

Estuve hablando muchísimo con él y dándole a entender que no lo había intentado lo suficiente como para determinar que no le gustaba .

Desde que salimos de casa estuve diciéndole lo mucho que se divertiría estando allí y que iba a aprender cosas nuevas pero aún así seguía renuente.

I was talking to him a lot and letting him know that I hadn't tried hard enough to determine that he didn't like it.

Since we left home I have been telling him how much fun he would have being there and that he was going to learn new things but he was still reluctant.

Cuando llegamos a la cancha pudimos observar que había muchos niños en práctica y no sé si es eso que le estaba cohibiendo , o el hecho de no saber cómo jugar, pero tomo una actitud determinada a no hacer nada.
Nuevamente comencé a explicarle que debía intentarlo que no podía darse por vencido sin haberlo intentado , en ese momento llegó un profesor muy amable y vio la escena, él muy amablemente lo invitó a jugar con él como si no fuera un entrenamiento y esto dio resultados, porque de un momento a otro él se alejó de mis brazos dónde estaba escondido, para ir a comenzar a jugar con el profesor y creo que cuando el profesor sintió que estaba preparado lo integró al grupo.

When we arrived at the court, we could see that there were many children practicing and I do not know if that was what was inhibiting him, or the fact that he did not know how to play, but he took a determined attitude to do nothing. Again I began to explain to him that he should try, that he could not give up without trying, at that moment a very kind teacher arrived and saw the scene, he very kindly invited him to play with him as if it was not a training and this gave results, because from one moment to another he moved away from my arms where he was hiding, to go to start playing with the teacher and I think that when the teacher felt that he was ready he integrated him to the group.

Mientras tanto yo, estaba a lo lejos viendo como se desenvolvía, él nunca había jugado beisbol y creo que para él es un nuevo y gran desafío. Al comenzar en el entrenamiento noté que giraba constantemente para verificar si nosotros sus padres estábamos allí observándolo, luego pudo tener un poco más de seguridad y se concentró en lo que estaba haciendo.

In the meantime, I was in the distance watching it unfold,he had never played baseball before and I think it is a new and big challenge for him. When he started training I noticed that he was constantly turning around to check if we his parents were there watching him, then he was able to be a little more confident and concentrate on what he was doing.

Una de las cosas más graciosas es que los entrenadores estában un poco confundidos con él porque, él es zurdo pero al parecer también hace muchas cosas con la mano derecha, entonces están tratando de que practique con ambas manos.

One of the funniest things is that the coaches were a little confused with him because, he is left-handed but apparently he also does a lot of things with his right hand, so they are trying to get him to practice with both hands.

Para cuándo terminó el entrenamiento le pregunté cómo se sentía y me dijo que se había divertido mucho , que la había pasado muy bien y que tenía nuevos amigos llegó contándole a su abuela todo lo que había hecho y aprendido.

Mi esposo y yo determinamos que lo vamos a tener un tiempo de prueba, si consideramos que a él le gusta se quedará allí, pero si no intentaremos con otro deporte, lo más importante es que él pueda desarrollar sus habilidades a través de un deporte que le genere pasión, así tendrá el compromiso para enfrentar los desafíos que conlleva la disciplina de desarrollar una nueva habilidad .

By the time the training was over I asked him how he felt and he told me that he had a lot of fun, that he had a great time and that he had new friends, he came telling his grandmother everything he had done and learned.

My husband and I determined that we are going to give him a trial period, if we consider that he likes it he will stay there, but if not we will try another sport, the most important thing is that he can develop his skills through a sport that he is passionate about, so he will have the commitment to face the challenges that comes with the discipline of developing a new skill.
