An Evening Walk - My Actifit Report Card: January 28 2026

I went for a slow walk around Duren Kalibata. Nothing special, just one of those walks where you let your mind drift while your legs move on their own. Jakarta was in its usual mode, a bit noisy, a bit chaotic, but somehow comforting.

By the way, I still don’t really know why this place is called Duren Kalibata. Is it because of durian? Or just coincidence? I didn’t see that many durian trees. Maybe it’s just one of those Jakarta names that no one questions anymore.

Along the way, I passed a durian seller. Of course, I had to stop and look. The scene felt very Indonesia, I mean, the seller was smoking, sitting casually, with an outdated haircut that probably hasn’t changed since the early 2000s. Around him were stacks of durians, strong smell included, with handwritten price signs that looked older than my phone.

Anyway, it was a nice walk. Sometimes, these ordinary scenes are what make the city feel alive.
