Among Guitars I’ll Probably Never Own - My Actifit Report Card: April 19 2026

Today I dropped by a guitar exhibition, because a friend of mine was running a booth there. He deals in genuinely legendary guitars, the kind that come with eye-watering price tags. I once saw he sold a guitar previously owned by John Frusciante of RHCP.

As expected, the crowd leaned heavily toward industry insiders, people who clearly know what they’re doing when it comes to high-quality instruments. I, on the other hand, am very obviously not their target market; there’s no scenario in which I’d realistically afford most of what’s on display.

That said, I did notice a seller who’s fairly popular on Instagram, somewhere around 53,000 followers. His inventory is comparatively more accessible, and, in a moment of optimism, I could almost imagine myself buying something from his shop.

Anyway, one piece that really caught my attention was a 1969 Fender Stratocaster, reminiscent of what Jimi Hendrix used. Right next to it sat an Ibanez in a striking neon green finish, hard to miss, even in a room full of eye candy.

All in all, it’s the kind of exhibition that quietly tempts you into wanting things you absolutely don’t need. Heh.

I didn't come home empty handed though. My friend gave me two packs of Gibson accoustic strings. Not bad at all.
