THE WORLD NEAR ME

Good luck companion of many walks. We slept together for nearly four years.

I am alone. Free but alone. I live a day at a time without thinking about tomorrow.

I am tired. I am tired but I have to keep swimming in order not to drown. I have to continue swimming to the shore of a beach to rest on.

It is cold and dark, but the certainty that the day follows each night gives me hope.

I go back to being myself and this is the most important thing of all.

I didn't want to walk today. but deep inside I know it's the right thing to do, so here I am.
