MY FAVORITE SPORT - VOLLEYBALL

Greetings friends and welcome to a new week. Today, I'm going to be telling you about my favourite sport which happens to be volleyball. I love to watch the sport and play sometimes for fun.

Requirements To Play Volleyball.

  • volleyball court: consists of: boundary lines, net at the centre of the court.

  • Ball

  • Two teams: each to consist of six players

How it is played

The two teams ie team A and B which comprises of six players each take positions. Team A is demarcated from team B by the volleyball net.

A player from the team that is to start the game serves the ball. This means to hit the ball from with either the palm or a clenched fist from the baseline position of the court. The served ball is expected to cross over the net to the other team.

The other team hits the ball back over the net too without allowing it fall to the ground. This continues till the ball falls to the ground in one side of the court. The team where the ball fell on their own side of the court loses a point while the other team gains a point. Another round starts and it continues on and on.

A team will lose a point for doing these:

  • Hitting the ball more than three times before sending it over the net.

  • When a player hits the ball two consecutive times.

  • Serving the ball into the net and not over it.

Why I love volleyball

  • It's full of intrigue. While watching; my eyes is always on the ball to know whether the team will succeed in pushing the ball over the net or fail by allowing it fall to the ground. That anticipation makes me never get tired of watching.

  • I love volleyball because it involves teamwork. Each member of the team understands that they need each other to succeed. For instance: since a team member is not allowed to hit the ball twice consecutively: a team member who hit the ball once gives way for another team member to play.

  • Another reason why I love volleyball is that it does not involve physical interaction with the opponent team. The two teams are separated by the net. This helps prevent aggressive play(eg pushing opponents, etc) found in other sports like soccer.

I had issues with serving the ball using overhead style, I love to defend by digging, it is always amazing for me to see people elevating so high while I bend down to receive the ball.

It is an amazing sport
Chasing loose balls too can be very sweet, the smart reflex actions too and the deadly spikes are amazing also

I like to dig the ball up too but it hurts if the ball is hard. Nice to know you love volleyball.

Yeah it does, especially when it is coming as a spike but it is what gives the game so much beauty
