My Actifit Report Card: September 26 2023

It has suddenly become cooler since the day before yesterday, September 23, which was the "Autumnal Equinox Day," and it really feels as if the air has changed after that day. My favorite season has finally arrived! However, it is still hot until around October every year, so we cannot let our guard down just yet.

Today I went to the library to borrow books for my elder son. My son, who is almost 11 years old, is a relatively good reader, but he is not a book lover who actively goes to bookstores or libraries on his own. However, if I leave books at home, he concentrates on reading them, so sometimes I pick out good books from the library for him to borrow.

This summer vacation, I borrowed some books for him that I myself loved in my upper elementary school years. They were very interesting to him and he exclaimed, "Mom's choices are wonderful." ... Is he trying to cajole me because he can't be bothered to borrow them himself, or do my son and I have similar sensibilities, or does he just like any book, or was my choice really wonderful? I don't know which is the right answer, but in any case, I want my children to read as much as they can. So, I went to the library with Actifit.

I myself like libraries. Walking around in the library is quite a walk for me. However, in the past few years, I have not been able to read many books because I have trouble concentrating, and many books I have borrowed are due without being read. There may be many books that I have bought but never read, and they are left as decorations on the bookshelf.

I suddenly became curious about a book on "lucid dreaming" and borrowed it. I wondered if I could have more time in my life if I could have "lucid dreams."

I have more and more things I want to do and feel that I don't have enough time these days. Today, I walked in circles in the library plus other Daily Activities, which totaled 5,700 steps.

一昨日から突然涼しくなりました。一昨日…9月23日には「秋分の日」だったのですが、本当にその日を境に空気が変わったように感じます。いよいよ私の好きな季節がやってきました！といっても毎年10月くらいまでは暑いので、まだまだ油断はできませんが。

今日は長男のために図書館に本を借りに行きました。もうすぐ11歳になる長男は割と本を読むほうではあるものの、自分で積極的に書店や図書館に通うほどの本好きというわけではありません。でも家に本を置いておくと結構な勢いで読んでいるので、私が時々図書館で適当な本を選んで借りることにしています。

この夏休みは、私自身が小学生高学年の頃に大好きだった本を何冊か借りてきたところ、面白かったらしく「母さんのセンスは神」と大絶賛でした・・・・自分で借りるのが面倒で私をおだてているのか、息子と私の感性が似ているのか、読めれば何でもよいのか、それとも私のチョイスが本当に神がかっているのか。どれが正解かは分かりませんが、本はできるだけ読んで欲しい。ということで、Actifitがてら図書館へ。

私自身は図書館が好きです。図書館の中をぐるぐる歩いていると、結構な歩数になります。ただここ数年は集中力がもたなくてあまり本を読めず、借りても読まないまま返却期限を迎えてしまうことが多くなりました。買っても読まないまま、本棚の飾りになっている本も多いかもしれません。

ふと「明晰夢」の本が気になり、借りてきてしまいました。もし「明晰夢」を見られるようになったら、人生の時間を増やすことができるんじゃないか・・・なんて、馬鹿なことを考えてしまいました。

何だかんだやりたいことが増えてきて、時間が足りないと感じている今日この頃です。今日は図書館内のぐるぐる歩き＋その他のDaily Activityで5,700歩になりました。
