Mbappè showed against Bayern that the show with Barcelona was not a fluke.
There are players who can single-handedly turn a game around.
Some are born scorers. Others set up the game and score in the most difficult moments. When the team doesn't show up. When the rival overcomes you all over the field.
Decisive players
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively have been giving full proof of this for years. Mbappé seems a worthy successor. Without making comparisons of any kind. Simply considering him as a "match-defining player". In any circumstance.
Yesterday it was Mbappé's turn. As it had been in the match against Barcelona. Always as a visitor. At the Camp Nou and at the Allianz Arena. As if the challenge of playing as an away team would enhance it.
Key factor in PSG's victory against Bayern.
Bayern Munich players kicked 31 times at goal and scored 2 goals. PSG players did it only 6 times and on three occasions Neuer had to find the back of the goal. Tremendous effectiveness. And, in the middle of it all, Mbappé.
The same Mbappé who had been transferred by Juventus looking for new and better horizons. He was still young but he was already showing signs of his talent and goal-scoring ability.
With these figures he reached historical French scorers in the Champions League. Those who in a single edition of the Champions League reached the maximum of 8 goals. Mbappé is already next to Trezeguet for example. And still to come. We are only in the quarterfinals.
Bayern had more footballing substance, had more possession of the ball for longer periods of time, their players kicked at goal from all positions. They had 15 corners to PSG's one. They made 491 passes against 295 for the French. Overwhelming statistics. However PSG won thanks to Mbappé and a Keylor Navas in one of the best performances of his career. Consecrating.
Statistics prove that every great team has its era. Real Madrid had it and achieved a splendid triple in the period 2015-2018. It is no coincidence that it is the King of Cups with 13 trophies.
Barcelona had it a bit more sporadically but also reaffirming its power from 2005 to 2010 (2005-2006, 2008-2009 and 2010-2011).
The rest went twice to Bayern, once to Internazionale, once to Chelsea, once to Liverpool, once to Manchester United, once to Milan and once to Barcelona and Real Madrid, which alternated again in 2013-2015.
Absolute Spanish dominance. 2021 will mark the beginning of the Paris Saint-Germain era and the definitive consecration of Kylian Mbappè, among others?

First game I have missed so will definitely watch the second leg.
It was a very particular match with total dominance of Bayern that PSG won only because they have Mbappè. I imagine the rematch will be spectacular
Greetings and thanks for commenting @cryptoandcoffee.
Mbappe is really showing us each day that he's a great player. I expected Bayern to lose though!
