A patient with suspected COVID returned after one month!
A 62-year-old Bangladeshi patient came to me on the 19th of September 2021 with all the features of COVID19. He was brought by his wife and son. Despite all the features, they couldn't do the PCR test at that time. They couldn't do some other tests also such as chest X-ray, CBC, CRP etc. So, I gave the necessary medications. They left and I forgot them.
Today they returned. All three of them. His condition was better except for some kind of breathing difficulty on exertion. According to them, he was in isolation for the last month! Now they came to do the PCR test. I told them that now the report most likely would be negative because his total duration of illness was over one month. But they insisted. Surprisingly, they did a chest X-ray also, besides the PCR test.
Looked like their thinking and knowledge about the COVID were a bit different. When they needed to do the tests, they refused. Now, his condition is better but they insisted on doing the tests.
