Abu is a new exotic fruit in Bangladesh. This time, this tree with fruits can be seen in several stalls at the tree fair. The fruits are also attractive to look at. Although the unripe fruit is green, the ripe fruit turns completely yellow. Abu fruit is usually round to oval. They contain one to four seeds.
Scientifically, it is known as Puteria caimito. Abu fruit is a tropical fruit of the Amazon rainforest, especially in the regions of Brazil, Colombia and Peru.

It is often creamy or jelly-like in texture and tastes like caramel, honey or vanilla pudding. When ripe, the fruit is bright yellow with smooth skin that can become slightly sticky.
It is usually eaten fresh, it can be cut and used in ice cream and desserts. Currently, the fruit is being produced in the gardens of amateur gardeners in Bangladesh as well. Seed seedlings start bearing fruit at the age of one and a half to two years
