Aguero set for Barcelona switch
The now 32-year-old Argentine star striker at Manchester City, Sergio Aguero, has at the time of writing only a few months left of his current contract with the light blues from Manchester. It is precisely the age and the many injuries that Agüero has been plagued by that make City hesitate to extend with the striker, who has gradually turned out for the club for a decade.
However, a player of Aguero's caliber should not worry about walking around clubless. There are reportedly several suitors, of which Barcelona reportedly have a strong interest in the striker. The Spanish media Diario AS reports that Barcelona are getting ready to pick up Sergio Aguero on a free transfer, just as the club has already secured defender Eric Garcia from City on a free deal this summer.
Sergio Agüero has played a total of 383 games for The Citizens, during which time the striker has scored an impressive 257 goals and delivered 73 assists. It is figures like these that make Barcelona's newly elected president, Joan Laporta, have shown a quick interest in Aguero. According to Diario AS, Barcelona intends to offer Agüero a two-year contract.
