18-year-old Reinier is said to be the latest jewel in Brazilian football, and is tipped to have a great future ahead of him at the top level, switching to Madrid from Flamengo in January. A report in Diario AS now claims that Dortmund are serious in their attempt to pick up the teenager on a similar contract as they had for Achraf Hakimi during the two seasons he was on contract with Dortmund.

Reinier needs two uninterrupted years in Spain to obtain citizenship, and therefore Real Madrid prefer that he come on loan at another La Liga club. But they believe he can play at a higher level in Germany and he would be guaranteed regular playing time for his development.

The player was originally incorporated on Madrid's Castilla team, but the club wants him to play at a higher level. Madrid beat Barcelona and Manchester City in the battle to bring the teenager back in January, when they paid South American champions Flamengo a reported sum of €65 million to secure his signature.
