Iker Casillas to return to his boyhood club

Iker Casillas has made it clear that he is betting on a return to Real Madrid, after the iconic goalkeeper put the boots on the shelf in early August. According to Spanish Marca, the now 39-year-old will serve as an adviser to the club's president, Floretino Perez.

Nothing has been decided yet, but I hope that my next chapter will be at Real Madrid. My parting with the club was traumatic, but it's my home. We split as in a marriage, but time goes by and everything calms down, Casillas told Semana Magazine according to Marca.

When the Spaniard is asked about his relationship with Florentino, the former Madrid captain pointed out that their relationship is better than it was after the goalkeeper's move from Madrid to Porto:

It's been three years and I've had a calmer relationship with Florentino - he told me; 'you must be here'. This August we will negotiate because Real Madrid is my home and my life - Florentino called recently and gave me an offer, when I'm in Madrid we will talk together, concluded Iker Casillas.
