Paris Saint-Germain could with a victory in their latest match had secured first place in Ligue 1, but the defending champions lost most surprisingly to FC Nantes in the 29th round. Since the match, however, it has not been the remarkable result that has graced the front pages of French sports newspapers.

The team's Argentine star player Angel Di Maria was replaced after about an hour of play, when there was a burglary in his house, but the Argentine was not the only PSG player who had burglary close to home during the fight. It has emerged after the match that there were also burglaries at Marquinhos's father, and according to Mauricio Pochettino, both burglaries played into the disappointing result.

We are very close as a team, and what happened to Angel Di Maria and Marquinhos also affected the other players. We have all had a hard time with the situation. What happened in the second half (against Nantes, ed) Was no doubt due to what happened (for Di Maria and Marquinhos). If it had not happened, we would have won, says Mauricio Pochettino according to BeIN Sports.

The defeat means that at the time of writing PSG is in second place in the best French series, three points behind the leading team Lille. Although Nantes are still on the verge of relegation, the three points could prove crucial for the team's chances of remaining in Ligue 1, as the West French club is now only one point from overtaking FC Lorient on the right side of the line.
